No negligence it’s on a tow company anything aftermarket you don’t have a lot of ground to stand on but a driveline and trans that’s on the tow company. I operate a heavy wrecker and tow tractor trailers I started with cars and trucks and when impounding there certain laws we have to abide by. When you call to tow something from A to B you have to pay before it’s dropped or it gets impounded if it’s an impound from private property then it come to our impound yard and it’s on the owner when they try to get the vehicle out. And most charge impound/tow, gate fee, admission fee, and storage

If you're going to steal it back best thing to do is buy a written off/crashed vehicle the same then use all the parts off your one you've sold then stolen back and put it on that then all the VINs will come back as one that's not stolen you can re stamp the engine ones if you know a dodgy guy & then just get the frame of the one you sold crushed and there's no evidence
