Reality Check! At the June 21st Texas Senate hearing DPS Director McCraw testified that 361 officers were on the scene at Robb Elementary on May 24th. The families of all the victims, & all Uvaldeans deserve to know what every one of the 361 were doing the entire time they were there. DPS Director McCraw testified that the active shooter protocol (enacted after Columbine) should have been the highest priority at Robb Elementary, a protocol that says that even if there is only 1 officer on the scene that officer should engage the gunman. The protocol doesn’t say that before an officer or officers engage a gunman the officer(s) are required to get the permission of whatever incident commander may be on scene. TV news videos showed that at Robb on May 24 very many of the officers outside had AR-15 rifles, & a school video camera showed that some of the officers inside the school had AR-15s & ballistic shields. The gunman Ramos had no ballistic shield to protect him. The fact is that none of the 361 officers attempted to engage Ramos unless they had a ballistic shield in front of them. And the only attempt to engage Ramos didn’t come until 74 minutes after the first officers arrived, & that sole attempt was by a Border Patrol tactical team that had a ballistic shield in front of them. If no ballistic shields had been at the school that day, would any of the 361 officers have finally made an attempt to engage Ramos? As a former U.S. Army officer, I can assure you that if infantry soldiers or Marines infantry had had the task to engage & neutralize Ramos they would have rapidly taken action at the classroom doors & the 4 exterior windows, with or without ballistic shields. In foreign wars our troops don’t use ballistic shields in their actions to enter buildings to engage & neutralize enemy combatants. The families of all the victims at Robb, & the general public deserve full & truthful answers about many issues. It is a heinous injustice that the answers are coming far too slowly. I’m a lifelong Texan who knows Uvalde well, & I stand in solidarity with the families of all the victims.

To all the Uvalde /Texas officials who are holding this stuff up, denying to talk or give information, covering everything up- you are a damn disgrace to your office, state, and country. I saw the meeting live; the DA and DPS issue a letter to the council not to release any information. I can’t imagine Paxton in charge of the investigation at the Texas Capitol. I’m not a resident but I could tell the Mayor and Gutierrez are kept in the dark just like the residents. When the people said they went to the School Board before and all they talked was about budget and didn’t answer any question to them. One resident she said two of the council members rolls their eyes; she told them in the face. The city should file a lawsuit like Gutierrez asking for information. I wondering because they asked the governor to meet with them but the mayor has called him several times but he speaks to the governor’s Chief of Staff. They need to keep pushing for answers and that DA should step down.

When the governor made his first remarks about the massacre, he said the information that he presented was not true and was "livid" that he was lied to, but he himself also lied about the quick response of the officer. The mayor was there at the time, so who lied to the governor. I do not trust that mayor. They need to write to the president and demand an investigation, not just a review by the FBI.

Swapping and having the elementary kids at the high school and the high schoolers at elementary campuses is a great idea. No one should go to Robb campus obviously. These poor parents. Mayoral control is a thing. Petition the State Dept of Education and the state legislature. Texas seems so corrupt right now. BTW yes, vote that entire school board out.
