Kenshi - Defeat Catlon Hardcore - 6 minutes 5.98 seconds (WR)

As I put at the start I am working on a guide atm! (Long one... But wanted to post this for now) I kept saying it was possible to beat the current WR on Speedrun but no one ended up doing it. After a sore throat yesterday and 30mins to spare I decided to try my hand at it. (Someone was a lil rude to me as well and insinuated that I couldn't do it... And I'm petty so...) Cut the old WR by more than half. To any would be speedrunners you can achieve sub 6mins in this run. Mistakes I made: I did not position my mouse over Catlon's death item I whiffed a little bit on spam clicking I accidently clicked on terrain in some parts at the end. (5:52ish to 5:56 my character was aimless because of that dang eye hitbox) If you do want to try to submit a run just be sure to read all the rules! The description of this video links to my entire 27min or so video of my verification, failed runs as well as this run.

Thank you! The fastest I've done it was... I want to say day 7? Using Martial Arts as Agnu. So about an hour and a half..? In that run I rushed 75 Martial Arts, used Assassins rags (+6MA) and Armoured Rag Skirt (+4MA) so my total was 85MA or 93MA indoors and I had insanely fast limb loss RNG that day (Solo run.. old strat involved letting iron spiders attack me in hopes that RNJesus would help me lose my limbs quickly.) That was back when I had a 1 stream winstreak going... which sadly ended on run streak 128... Now I go for more relaxed runs on stream 😅 If I could figure out a way to prevent the Stormthralls from actually triggering at the end of his dialogue I could actually do a Catlon 1 all stats fight. Done it once before. (But I had Assassins Rags +Skeleton smiths Naginata and I removed the thralls with a custom mod. It was more of a practice vs Catlon type thing)

True. There is a reason I never use it on stream. That being said rushing to cat and hoping you can lvl up enough before he 1shots you at the end of his speech is quite exciting.

I opened KZbin to watch a video that I had put off for later. I saw this video and was intrigued by the title. I watched the video and only after that did I pay attention to the author. I was surprised to find that it was you. After that, I remembered that there was no new video on Twitch for some time and it should appear soon. I switched to Twitch and unexpectedly found myself in the middle of your stream. P.S. You know, I’ve already seen Cat-Lon killed by knockout before (it wasn’t a speedrun, however, but just a game from scratch until Cat-Lon and Bugmaster were killed), but that was a long time ago, so I even forgot about this possibility and thought , that 7 minutes may have something to do with the length of the battle.

:D I appreciate you coming by! And combat wise we've had a few second fights vs Catlon. I believe my longest Catlon fight in the past year (Minus Crossbow ones which are miserable vs him) was around 3 minutes irl time and that is with Ninja blade with horrid luck 😅 Yesterday though was a fast one. Not as fast as a Martial arts 2hit KO we had before vs him but still fast :)

@@FrankieWuzHere Well, maybe in the future I will get on your stream again, but this is very unlikely, since my time zone is GMT+3. So all I can do is watch the recordings of your streams... By the way, after what time do you delete recordings of old streams? I once postponed a couple of your streams (Agnu with a long cleaver and a character with a naginata katana) only to find out later that they had been deleted.

How did you spam assassinate?

Spam click. As in click as fast as you can. I can normally get around 17 or so off per animation. In the end my Assassination level went from 1 to... Honestly idk but I'd wager around 80ish.

@@FrankieWuzHere I'm used to running around Squin to level that because hungry bandits and dust bandits, they usually get knocked out on the first click

@@anthonyjames7173 catlon won't react to it while he's talking. I don't think anyone else has a similar limitation. You can also KO people a bunch of times before they fall down and gain more EXP that way.

​@@anthonyjames7173You get 3x the xp for failing Assassinating a unit. If you put Crab Armour/Samurai Armour you can tank your Assassination level. I have heard that Fog heavies apparently ignore you when you try to assassinate them when they are worshipping near Fogpoles. Maybe that combo might work for you better.

​@@TheVampireAzrielShinobi Thieves if allied sometimes won't as well. Many npcs who have an unbandaged leg whose health is below their KO point and inside a building you own with the door closed will as well I believe.

(Model # rz01-0201) Razer Death Adder Elite is what I use but you can click that fast with any mouse so long as it is not very old. Look up jitter clicking. It's when you tense up your hand and vibrate it quickly to spam click. Don't do it for too long though. It could hurt if you do. You can even hold the mouse still with your other hand while doing it.
