Kensington's drug addict will do anything to get that needle. I decided to interview a drug addict on the mean streets of Kensington in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The drug addict said before he used to be homeless in Kensington. Make sure to Like, Comment, Share, and Subscribe.

Nope! When he asked if there’s resources, he blamed the way they run it. When he asked about the need exchange it was just cuz he knows “I don’t wanna allocate any money towards anything other than drugs”. And finally when he was asked “do you ever see yourself leaving Kensington” he hesitated and said “umm…”. I never once hear an addict say “please get me out of here take me now I’ll do anything to get out of here” Remember they’re always scamming always their brain is wired to figure out how to get something out of you with the possibility of repeating getting something out of you. If you’ve ever truly tried to help someone you love addicted then you know what I am talking about Every word that they speak every action they take every premeditated thought is about getting money to bring to their dealer.

You are making good points. It does seem some addicts tend to blame everyone and everything but themselves. Most people would never want to live on the streets of Kensington. The drugs controll them 100 percent.

Couldn’t be more miss informed. There are plenty of addicts who will do anything to give up there addictions. Spent time in rehab with many of them. I myself left my state just to get into a rehab a soon as I can and I wasn’t the only one who had travelled from afar to be there. A bunch gave up there kids to relatives for for months to be there. Trust me there are plenty of addicts who give up everything to be in rehab and do whatever it takes. Some people it takes longer then others to get to this point and unfortunately some don’t ever get to this point. Or course interviewing current addicts on the street you’ll hear excuses. Go interview people in rehab and see what they gave up to be there and what changes there making on the outside to stay clean. Then you’ll get an idea

Rehab will never work, if you go back to the same area after, that you was in before. You are young enough to find something. Go to rehab as long as you can, and as soon as you are out, go do something totally different. Maybe go join a mission (or charity work) and go abroad to help people. You dont have to neccesarily be religious. Dont think about becoming wealthy, just get yourself straight, and out of your normal loop for a couple of years.

@@ready_to_destinationare you able to understand how someone could make a bad or negative decision? Then you are able to understand how somebody could pick up a drug. People make bad choices and choices have consequences. Smoke and vape your whole life you may get lung cancer but we don’t shame them for making that choice, eat unhealthy foods you may become obese or get diabetes or heart disease. We also choose what we eat and put in our bodies. Bad choices can lead to bad consequences. Whatever your bad choices in life may be, I pray that people seek to understand rather than shame.

@@ready_to_destination A lot of the time it's youngsters just doing a little bit with friends, and from there it gradually spirals out of control over time. Most don't consider it a big deal to pick up a drug here and there, so it's just outlook. A lot of these kids are naive about the dangers as well, and even if they do understand a little bit they usually don't think it will happen to them. These days you see how bad drugs are though, more than the past. So many are dying of fentanyl and having all kinds of problems. There are many people with issues and information is all over the internet and new, the information is out there. I would think less people would try drugs today because it's harder to be naive about them with all the info we have today. That said, some people just don't think it will happen to them I guess.
