Thanks for the video. I was born on Isle of Sheppey and now live in Australia. I used to walk every Saturday from Minster-on-Sea to Sheerness to visit my grandmother. Thanks for bringing back so many memories. It was wonderful to see all these places again.

The church is now beautifully renovated, and is an arts centre museum. There's also a cafe there.

The Dockyard church is absolutely buzzing as a community space and business hub now - indeed a wonderful restoration.

Brilliant video, very interesting, thanks very much for recording this and sharing with us. Great to see Queenborough, the creek, Bluetown, Sheerness and Minster-on-Sea. You have left us with some memorable images. Also, some wonderful shots of the Thames estuary where the fate of the SS Richard Montgomery continues to cause debate and concern. Looking forward to seeing the stretch to Warden!

Glad you're still enjoying them 😁 The story of the SS Richard Montgomery is quite terrifying, I know you can see it sticking out of the water but somehow I missed it when I was there. The next video to Warden will be very dramatic, probably the hardest walk so far!

We visited exactly this area for a short break from Suffolk. Enjoyed it very much as the weather was hot and sunny. I agree, with some investment and imagination Blue Town could become very trendy. Queenborough and Sheerness have faded from probably being smart little towns in Victorian times to looking quite rundown and scruffy now, but there's still an interesting buzz about the place. I should mention the Queen Phillippa Hotel in Queenborough, as excellent very clean, with friendly staff and a very good chef. Also I'd mention Chris at C and H services who replaced the broken exhaust on my Mini with a couple of hours of me turning up unannounced. A top bloke.

The church at Bluetown/Sheerness Docks is now being refurbished.

Brilliant news! For such a historically important building it was a shame to see it left to decay. I could really see Bluetown/Sheerness Docks being a touristy area if more money was put into it.

Thanks so much for the video. Very interesting and informative. I will explore Blue Town more when I’m over in Sheerness. I love Sheppey! It’s got such a rich, interesting history. The mix of Elmley nature reserve, heavy industry, quaint seaside towns and prisons makes it quite unique and totally bonkers! Looking forward to your next walk.

@@SiddersS Sometimes I organise walks with friends, I think they would enjoy this. Trouble is we have the shorter winter days now so a bit time limited for daytrips. However, it's definitely on the walks wish list!

Nice video mate, I hiked all the way around the island the other day and must admit the sea wall between Queenborough and Bluetown was the lowlight, but you did a good job of making it look interesting, well done 😄

Queenborough to Bluetown was the lowlight for me too, I'm happy you think that I made it look interesting! Did you hike around the whole island in one day? That's impressive! Thanks, and glad you enjoyed! 😁
