Hello Everybody,
In this Video I pull nearly a century from The Appalachian Mountains of Connecticut to New York City on The Empire State Trail. I love getting into the city and riding around. New York as a whole is incredibly bike friendly, from NYC to all of Upstate. There are hundreds of miles of bike paths, bike lanes, and lots of trails to ride. If you have never biked The Empire State Trail be sure to put it on your list of must rides. Stay tuned for more biking around New York City, thanks for following along on my adventures, and Thanks Zip Recruiter.

Ha, busted. Nobody mentioned the lady falling off her bike yet. It happened in front of me just before the knucklehead in the wrong lane.

Thanks for the view. Excellent video. I live near Philadelphia and ride frequently to NYC. Am planning to explore going north of the city this year. Only did it twice in the past but crossed to the west side of the Hudson at the GW Bridge 50 or so miles or rode along the coast of Connecticut to take the ferry to Long Island and back home. Otherwise I took the train to Albany to start but this was years ago. Looks like progress on the trails has taken place.

Such a great area up there. I’ve been meaning to ride rte 7 for quite a while. It was pouring down rain and pretty dark outside when I passed Kent Falls, so I didnt stop. I’m very familiar with that area, it was tough passing up campgrounds and even a hotel with a brightly lit vacancy sign in the window while it was dark and raining, to sleep under a bridge. But, free for me. See you up north.

An absolutely amazing piece of infrastructure. I still remember riding it when the last leg inside Van Cortlandt was dirt, held up by some sort of railroad planks. 😆

It used to be an old railroad. I liked it better when that section was unpaved.

@@falcoperegrinus82 Yes, it had a certain charm to it- although it would flood with mud every time it rained. It was magical, since back in the ‘70s, to find yourself on such a path, right in New York City! 😃

@@TravelingThru222 It’s my start towards all points north. I did the NYC-Albany leg last year, doing the Erie Canal to Buffalo this September, then Champlain Valley to Montreal in ‘24. It’s also a good meeting point for riders heading out of town as a group. 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴🏻‍♂️☺️

I'm not a cyclist, I only tuned in because Kent, CT is in my neck of the woods. I don't know where you're based but have you ever ridden the Harlem Valley Rail Trail? It's currently 26 miles and runs from Hillsdale, NY to Wassaic, NY. It's really, really nice.
