@@TheGlovesMan in the cup, the first lowest marking for water is labelled for 7 eggs. However, it should be for 1 egg. In effect less water for more eggs and more water for fewer eggs. It should be the other way round. Is there an error?

It's not an error. The less eggs you have inside the boiler, the more water you need because there will be more empty space and water will not drip back. All egg boilers are designed this way.

No, it does not. It has a small heater that makes steam and heats the eggs. No rocket science here.
