In my 70+ years and as an avid Habs fan, I witnessed Sam Pollock in the 1970s build the Montreal Canadian dynasty. In the past 30 years that dynasty vanished until recently when Mr. Gorton and Mr. Hughes arrived as Managers. Now, fans such as myself can see the vision of the Habs dynasty returning to Montreal. As a lifelong fan, I am impressed and exhilarated for the future under this management. The negativity from the below comments illustrates the impatience and lack of historical Habs knowledge by the writers. Trust the Process! It will happen!

I am a slightly younger Habs fan of 67. I agree. We are witnessing a return of the old proud tradition and hopefully the old winning ways. I trust the plan and though I would love just one more Cup before I go, patience is the key. Sont la, monsieur.

I am life long Canadiens fans saw Yvon " the road runner" Cournoyer, Guy Lafleur, Guy Carbonneau,Larry Robinson,Steve Shutt,Bob Gainey win Stanley Cups this team will miss the playoffs 3 to 4 years no playoffs due to The GMs dumb moves. Your supposed to Keep Good Players Not Trade Them. Think about that while you eating your poutine and drink your beer next time.

@@waynewilliams9442 I have also seen all those players winning cups...but times have changed especially since the cap era plus the new rules regarding free agency. Canadian teams have not won a Stanley cup in over 30 years...The US markets have now a lot more to offer to players and their families than harsh winter, high income taxes, elevated media pressure...versus poutine & beer !!!

Lets wait until they actually build something before giving credit to anyone. Currently, the credit goes to those who have built winners, not those who are in the process and havent proven anything. Give credit to Carolina, Boston, Vegas, Colorado, etc... I learned this the hard way, when Bergevin came, we were very excited. But besides a lucky Covid run to the Finals, we barely made the playoffs and were always a borderline team. Getting excited and talking about Dynasties with Kent Hughes will have to wait

Lol, Habs GM was basically unqualified when they hired him, 0 experience. Anyone can be GM in this time and age. Being part of scouting and development, well that's a job. GMs have a whole platoon of people under them making there life easier. Hughes is no different than someone who's played hockey before. Now because he's a player agent? Ah yea I'm sure he was evaluating his clients in how they play and not how many points they had lol
