Holy cow these are not cheap. Saw three together in 20 gallon container today at my local nursery in Southern California and I had to look it up on KZbin. I like this palm but didn't realize it is a coconut palm. I want to plant it outside but I don't think my neighbor will appreciate coconuts falling into his yard once it becomes tall enough.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind! After all, who wouldn't want some fresh coconuts!

Hooris Sure! As long as one doesn't fall on their head. I happen to like my neighbors. Be great to grow around neighbors you don't care for however.

This is not a coconut palm. It's a coconut lookalike palm. No falling nuts from this palm. Only caveat: slow grower. But beautiful.

Hi great video! Very informative. Will they survive frost? I’m in the uk we get quite cold winters.

when I put the pot in the living room, the colour of leaves turns to light green. So, I put them in the direct sun and the edge of the leaves became dry out or dark. Thank you for the tips that this plan likes slow changes.

Also, is there anyway of being able to plant new Palms seeds off an existing one? Sorry I am new to this!
@tearaipalmguy52708 жыл бұрын
Yes, but in all honesty just go seedling from wholesale supplier in your area. Pay a couple of dollars each and away you go

Hi, thanks for the video - useful! Is there anyway to encourage these to grow any quicker? I have one of these indoors, gets a bit of sun in the morning then mainly corner front room shade. Cheers!

Sorry for the delay just getting the hang of comments.. yes - if in fairly moderate warm climate - get them in good potting mix, compost, with drainage, they are hungry. the bigger the rooting area the better.. My suggestion if indoor is a good pot size - minimum PB 40 - feed with sheep pallets in early spring and autumn, make sure get plenty of water in summer however let dry out in between
