Only just discovered your channel, so I'm not sure if you've covered it already, but I've heard some interesting stories about Bigbury Camp, between Harbledown and Chartham Hatch near Canterbury. Just in case you're running short of ideas lol.

Very interesting. As a local raised about 2 miles from Kits Coty its great to see a video on it. There is a lot of history in the area but sadly is little more than myth. Alongside the battle of Aylesford of course there was the Battle of Medway said to have taken place a mile up the river at a place called Burham. There is a stone there to commemorate it and its site is by an ancient Church on the river bank. The 2 battles were separated by 400 years - the battle of Medway against the Claudian invasion in 43AD and the final chance to prevent the Roman's crossing the river and moving on to London. This battle appears to have been between those looking to exploit the vacancy left after the Roman's departure but were both pivotal to the history of both Kent and England. Great stuff thanks for posting.

I'm Kits Coty born and raised. Thanks for putting this up. Did you see the blood stone further across to Burham? Gudday from downunder!

Stumbled on your KZbin channel last night and binge watched most of them (yes, I do have a sad life!). Thoroughly enjoyable. I wonder if you have covered the Battle of Maidstone 1648? I have a personal interest in this as my 9th great grandfather and two of his brothers were killed in the battle. As they were local farmers I guess they were Royalists although I have no proof. Kent is rich in history so you've plenty of material to work with.

Glad that you found me and enjoy the videos. No doubt I will get to the Battle of Maidstone at some point. Being a resident of Maidstone myself I often stroll past the plaque. My plan this Christmas was to look at one of the events that led up to the violence in Kent, so stay tuned for that. It does make sense that your relatives would be Royalists as Parliament had to move forces into the area to deal with the uprising.

Wow, Tonge near Sitingbourne. Used to live right near the old Mill Pond in 1984/85. Never knew there was a Hengist connection there. Great vid !

Thanks ever so much. There was a little information board to it but alas it has fallen over. Lovely part of the world, nice little oasis. Bubbling streams and orchards.

I think one of the maps was about Tonge. It's pronounced with the o and n as "on". It's 10 minutes from where I live. Otherwise I love your videos.

Thanks ever so much for watching the video.. You know as I was saying it I thought am I getting this wrong? I blame the fact I had just got stung by a stinging nettle that caused the mispronunciation.
