Nanami’s flashback with the cafe girl really did show the hopeful side of JJK and sealed Nanami as my favorite character. Also The animators at Mappa continuously deserve the love/respect they pour into these eps. And Nanami’s final words to Yuji along with Haniba’s spirit pointing at Yuji was just perfect.
@joshshrum276411 ай бұрын
Yeah i really love him, and it does break me how he had to go out, but it’s kind of a detriment when you know he was killed because Gege, didn’t think he had any other role to play, but that makes me wish he could have made it out of Shibyua, and got to retire, but yeah he’s a favorite of mine too i just enjoy him on screen.

Nanami reminds me a lot of Jean from attack on titan, a man who desperately wants to be selfish but his nature completely rejects it. So we see a man constantly in conflict with himself. I love him soo much. In the end he cared about everyone but himself, he protected others and cared about them and their well being till his very last breath, even in the end he doesn't want to make his death a burden on Yuji.

Nanami and Jean have always been my favorite characters from JJK and AoT respectively, and I think it's all because they're just like us-- afraid and constantly in conflict with ourselves over what is easy vs what is right. They both chose what's right, but it doesn't mean that it was easy to come to that decision. Both such mad lads!!! ❤

It’s a little sad how many people overlook this series as just another battle shonen and don’t appreciate the spiritual, psychological, philosophical, and social aspects built into the story. It’s not that extreme but it’s a little similar to the bell curve meme where on the lower end, people love it because it’s JuJumptsu Kaisen and others love it perhaps because of the Jungian readings they can take from it. Gege in my opinion is an absolute master because he can simultaneously make something so fun and meathead-ish also with so much soul, wisdom, and commentary.

Totally agree, unfortunately I’ve seen that throughout comments on this and other videos but it’s totally selling the series short.

I like how Nanami, despite being tired, burnt out and overall unfulfilled by the monotonous cycle of corporate enterprise, still has that drive to to do something, the will to be better, to help out those in need which is why he goes back to penis sorcerer despite his lack of joint for it and constant risk. And it's not like it provides him some large grandeurs of satisfaction either that his other job didn't, he makes it clear that both suck but as an adult, he knows that between the two of them, only one has the potential to truly save people even if it's only one person. He knows Jujustu society sucks, that those at the top are corrupted and the reality of the imminent fall that waited every sorcerer, was disillusioned by it, and yet still chose to come back. He takes that reality and goes unwavering in his ability to carry out his resolve and I find that the most earnest and respectful part of his character. He is no nonsense in what he cares about about and values whatever that be his work or the people he wants to protect, from Yuji to even Gojo.

One things I love about Nanami is he is hopeful realest. He hopes that things can get better for both sorcery and normal world, but he is realistic about it. Another thing I love about Nanami is how protective he is of young sorcerers after witnessing the death of his best friend. He's always at the front line of danger and gives the upcoming sorcerers hope. Nanami is one of the best characters that Gege created, he was a true professional.

To all the Nanamis in our lives, thank you for always being there for us

Since I’ve read about it long ago, I already shed my tears for Nanamin. From his design, personality, words, actions and aspirations, Nanamin Kento cemented himself as one of the best characters in Shonen for me. I truly believe that we can all see part of ourselves in him and his search for hope truly inspires me. The whole segment of him on a beach around Malaysia was a pure act of passion and kindness from the animators who I dearly love and appreciate the work (prolly more than their employers aka MAPPA the evil). It was a brutal but poetic and beautiful send-off for this man. Now, he can forget about overtime and enjoy his beachy leisure time, reading books and maybe surely chatting with Haibara.

One big thing that sets Nanami apart, as well, is his insistence on not treating the young protagonists like they are fully-developed adults. He frankly acknowledges that Yuuji is a teenager and should not have to deal with the same responsibilities, nor should he be put in the front lines. This is something that doesn't get directly addressed in a lot of action shows, and further illustrates how grounded and kind Nanami really is.
@Comicbroe40511 ай бұрын

I have heard a lot of people who have commented that they were upset that Yuji wasn't the one who got to kill Mahito, after defeating him. I feel like that is a big part of missing what Nanami would have wanted. He knew what Yuji was going to face and would have to be put through (The part where Yuji first has to kill people that Mahito has turned into "monsters" is the first part of this.). He would have been pleased that Mahito was defeated, for the protection of everyone; but he never would have wanted Yuji to be put in the position of having to take satisfaction in killing someone -- anyone, because it is a terrible thing, and the world is full of terrible things already. It ended like it should have.

Furthermore, I really HATE the fact that it was that damned Mahito who killed him. I wouldn't have minded if he had killed Mahito and died in the aftermath, a glorious amazing death. Toji didn't become a spectre of rage, i think as him as someone who was bored of the society, rules and codes that bound it so he broke free from it, becoming an exile by choice who doesn't have a code, approaching each scenario based on the emotion felt at the moment, not on any ideology. And he's fine with that. If he does something its out of pragmatism or on how fun it would be, and seems more bored or indifferent with the Jujutsu Society then vengeful towards it. The only time he really feels compelled by a higher power is in the second fight with Gojo where he becomes insanely engaged with fighting the self proclaimed 'honoured one' I also feel that deep down he is being driven by some sort of spiritual sense (a sense that drives every character in this show) that gives him reason for living. So i wouldn't describe him as vengeful. That's what i believe about his character anyway

I agree, im surprised alex finds this story and characters so interesting, i admit that for a story made with pumping cool battles as it's highest priority it's written pretty well, but the writting suffers so much from not spending any time on characters and relationships that the story still ends up being a 5/10 for me. Unfortunately for jjk, ability to empathize with a character does not equal emotional investment.🦖

@@peterpotato4807 JJK has one of the worst cast managements I have ever seen in a shonen. Important, foundational characters get constantly offed or sidelined for the sake of a cheap surprise while giving focus to absurd, stupid guests of the week. The villains are also a total disappointment after Mahito. Sukuna is just evil for the sake of being evil and Kenjaku worked way better when he was just Geto.
