Break out the mono works great! But I think I prefer to setup the audio channels in the clip settings first, so it's consistent throughout the project. Clip settings, audio channels , and force the mono tracks to be interpreted as mono since that's how they were actually recorded. Both methods work, but doing it at the clip level keeps sync on the clip and if you ever do an insert or a another pull your original clip audio is still linked correctly.

A++ on the breakdown for this, and it shows that just little things and additions can really elevate an edit. Hopefully there are some similar settings in DaVinci Resolve that I can use. Really informative and inspiring!

Shallow DOF is even easier and more precise in Davinci. Use Depth map + lens blur. Syncing clips, fixing audio is also rather straightforward.

So when the two mult-cam files were created (MS1 and MC2) and you added them to the Sync sequence, you then worked on applying effects to one of them (MC1). Would you then have to copy and paste all effects/settings to MC2?

Thank you for the video. Did you end up using the MKH-16 or the lav for your primary audio track? If the former, that enhanced sound feature(now in beta, but built into PP) sounds like an acoustic blanket(necessary for shotgun mics).

Thanks for the video very helpful! ... Beginner question, if you record the audio separately into Zoom recorder h6 or any other recorder what audio would you synch it to if you have multiple cameras (A or B cam) or is it the same?
@HighFiveTheHorizon Жыл бұрын
From my experience, you synch to the cleanest audio you have. If you set up your shoot like Kent did in the other video for this interview, the footage from your cams should be about the same, settings-wise, with only the framing being different. In post, I would then synch up those two cams to the zoom audio.

Mind Blown! How am I gonna fit all that useful information in my head in 30 minutes! I need to fill in 3 years of watchin' other people's stuff for little tidbits! How dare you? LOL! Seriously, that and episode 1 were almost TOO USEFUL! - I'm a little perturbed that I actually learned something... Very annoying! 🙂 (I subscribed so hopefully I can find some really time-wasting sucky information [to make up for all this useful knowledge you forced down my throat!?])

@Standard Story Company you're not wrong haha I tried it on some reception speeches where my body didn't arm the field recorder so I had to use on camera audio. It didn't sound like my uncle talking because it manipulated so much to clean the sound. With audio, less is more
@dat_bernie Жыл бұрын
@@OaklynMediaLLC I've done this same thing. I actually took the audio that adobe audio enhance gave me and layered it with the audio out of the camera and it was so much more convincing. Wasn't perfect, but it was useable - which is all I can ask for in that situation.

I have a quick question for ya, but it doesn’t really apply to this video. I’ve heard directors aren’t supposed to suggest how an actor should act. But at the same time, you’re supposed to direct their performance. So where’s the line? Where do you draw the line when you want an actor to give a line in a certain way but you’re not getting exactly what you want from them? Thanks 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

Why shoot 2 cameras on nearly the same angle, just one tighter and one wider? Why not just cut the wider angle take and set a zoom effect to selectively cut to a closer shot when needed? If you're going to use 2 cameras, why not shoot shots from obviously different angles? Just wondering?
