Just installed. Great product. My ONLY suggestion would be to use a better gauge wire. The wires are way too thin. Other than that a nice way to run without a spare.

I just got this product delivered. Looks nice another suggestion besides wires LEDs looks like they are placed with double side adhesives doesn’t look it will last.

Dan Dan I noticed the same thing. I am going to epoxy the light to make sure it won’t budge. I read other reviews on Quadratec and Amazon that had the light detach.

Just installed this on a 2007 jku. For the taillight, the white wire with purple stripe was not the correct wire on my jeep. What I did to find the right one: connect the ground Take the red wire and touch the pins until the light turns on. Tap that wire. Hope that helps someone

Installed this last night following this video and the included instructions. The problem I’m having is that I’ve got power to the license plate light, but the brake light will not work. I have the red spliced into the white/ purple & the black spliced to the black. Any suggestions?

Just ordered this kit for my 2012 JK and can't wait to install it. Installation looks straight forward but I do have a wiring question: why did you opt to splice into the 3rd brake light wiring rather than to simply go to the 3rd brake light connector?

Hey John, thanks for the question. We wanted the third brake light wiring to remain in tact in case the customer would ever want to reinstall their OEM equipment, and splicing at the tailgate offers easy access. If you like, you can use the third brake light connector to make it a more plug-and-play installation. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Sure...I'm not talking about cutting it though. Talking about sourcing the appropriate connector. I'm looking into it for my setup (which should arrive today) so that I don't have to cut the factory wiring.

There isn't no. The light is specifically fused that way.

@@AmarChumber We have no proper way to mount that, but luckily it would be pretty easy to drill the 3 holes needed to secure the camera. You could either hide it between the license plate and backside, or between the backside and the tailgate.

Is there a video on how to remove the stock license plate bracket and then plug it? I'm more concerned about what to do with the wiring for the license plate light.

Unfortunately we don't have a video tutorial for the removal of the stock license plate bracket. As for the the license plate light wiring, we recommend that you unplug the connector and tuck it into the body. We offer a License Plate Delete Plug, Part no. 80708, to cover the hole.
