I especially enjoy your food segments! I miss the days of being able to plunge into the woods a bit and making the best of it with jsut what I brought with me. Keep on doing what you do! I will be eternally grateful! 😎☮

The Decathlon 2 second tents are a staple in German festival culture. They are quite perfect for that. You carry enough stuff anyway to the camping grounds, so weight and size are not so big of a deal. They are quite reasonably priced and surprisingly waterproof for what they cost. Had mine for nearly 10 years now and it still holds up

Hello Andy! I have this tent. It has served as both my backup tent and when I need rapid deployment. I usually go camping for a week stretch at campsites, and when the main door on my old Coleman could not zip up and could not be repaired, this Decathlon tent did the trick, and the reflective fly kept me warm on a 9 degree C evening, with no blanket over me. I really like the tent. One thing about blackout tents, not only do they keep the light from getting in, they also prevent light from escaping your tent and prevent the attraction of bugs at night. Thanks for the video and review! Cheers!

We have the 3 person version of this. I'm disabled and it's brilliant. They even brought out an awning this year which is even better to keep our fridge and cooking stuff in. We go away for couple weeks at a time in ours and never had a problem in it. Love your videos!

I have absolutely no idea why I watch these videos. I'm disabled So it's very unlikely I will ever be able to go camping unless I had a very specific elaborate setup which I think kind of defeats the purpose. But for some reason I love watching these videos. Who would have thought watching a man camp could be relaxing? It also scratches that slightly anorak itch in my brain for gear. Even if I know I'm not going to buy the stuff. I quite enjoy looking it up and checking out the specs.

10:02 I really like it that you're cutting and carrying large chunks of lumber back to the camp for bucking down to fire length. I'm proud of you for being smart, and carrying large pieces, instead of those many small lady like bundles of small wood cut in the field. You can now cut the big ones at your leisure back at camp. Good one. (Kent, sorry I was so critical! ... I like your videos!!!) 10:32 now ya just need to learn how to switch arms/hands each two or three pieces when cutting lots of repetitive work. Distributes the muscle strain, exhaustion on different muscles. You can actually cut faster, WITH LESS EFFORT, for that easy adjustment in behavior. Regards. 11:52 If you place the short stubs on the cutting block, so you are splitting from the top of the tree down toward the root, every branch you are trying to split past, ends up holding the trunk back together. If on the other hand you place the stubs on the cutting block so you are splitting from the root to the top, well the branch stubs inside the trunk, end up SHEDDING the split to the outside, thereby not being strong to hold the trunk together. SPLITS MUCH EASIER!!! Root towards top, rather than top towards the root!!!

I have the same tent. It’s the best thing I’ve brought in years. I’ve used it in all seasons and it’s perfect. It doesn’t have anywhere to put guy ropes or included with. It is one of the heavier tent I’ve owned it but has to be light enough for my motorcycle. The dark & cool feature is amazing if you work/attend festivals as your normally going to bed at 4am+ with this tent you can sleep well into the morning without getting that warm at all even in direct sunlight. I’ve just used it for 14 days straight in Scotland and had some horrendous rain and wind and it held up absolutely perfectly. The zips seams and pockets are all decent quality. Only time will tell on the duration. I like it takes minutes to set up and pack down just roll it round and stuff it back in the sack. Really good features on this tent. No getting everything wet while setting up

I have the same tent and love to camp with it, but not while hiking because it's so big and heavy to carry around. So for a festival or when you're with a car close by it's perfect. Super easy to set up (I've tested it on a 5 year old who could set the whole thing up by herself with ease, and break it down again as well) and the dark inside gave me that extra much needed hour of sleep in the morning as well even if the sun was up already. Love your video's by the way, you've got such a calming way of making videos. No fuss, no drama, and actualy enjoying whichever type of weather nature throws at you. @@byunbyun1759 To sum it all up: My family is not the nature-lover type, so I tried camping for the first time as an adult with my husband (who is German and one with nature). Well, the tent was not waterproof and I woke up in the night with a puddle of water around me because it had been raining a lot. Also, maybe I just really cold, but the sleeping bags did nothing for me. Finally, the nail in the coffin was that I was woken up in the middle of the night by animals scratching on the tent. I was scared to death. The morning after I must have looked like shit because when I drove to town to get a cup of coffee the lady at the counter looked at me and said "oh honey, it's on the house".

I've been waiting for the 2-second tent video! Hate to say it, but the commercials do it more justice as apparently there ARE instructions. One pull and it opens. Have to agree about that lack of light coming through though. That's half the joy of tent camping, but I insist on white or beige tents because the light inside is then natural and cheery rather than sickly green and depressing. Good vid.

I love the thick sturdy fabric and if you just let it collapse and fold the sides in you can roll it easily to fit back in the bag. I used to sell tents and camping equipment a couple of decades ago. I remember the first 'instant' tents - Khyam tents. Use to sell them with a VHS video tape for people to watch prior to using them, as well as showing them how to set up the tent within the showroom. One buyer was very brusque, acted as though I was insulting his intelligence. Anyhow he never bothered watching the video. How do I know.........? He rang me about a week after buying it. He was in the South of France and wanted to know how to 'fix' his tent. He had managed to set it up inside out. When I told him the whole thing would have to be taken apart and put back together he wanted to me to go out and fix it. The showroom where I worked was near Manchester. I asked him had he watched the video (because he certainly hadn't paid attention when I did the demo) and he informed me that he hadn't but he had it with him. Obviously there was no way I was travelling to the S of France (he wanted me to pay for that myself) even if I could have fixed it. My advice to him was to find a camping shop and buy another tent.

I bought this tent last year for festivals and I love the ease of putting it up but I would probably not go hiking with it unless I could reduce most of my pack to a minimum. For a camping trip where you're relatively close to your car though it's awesome and they even make an awning/extra big vestibule for it you can buy as an addon. I'll test that at my next festival, see how much heavier things get with that.

I love the fact that it's battery-powered and portable, which makes it perfect for camping trips like yours! With Asmoke, I can enjoy a variety of flavors thanks to the different wood pellets. The digital controller is a lifesaver, allowing me to maintain my desired cooking temperature, providing precise control over my grilling process. This is especially handy when I'm out in the wild and need consistent results. The added bonus is that it's environmentally friendly, using recycled wood materials. Wow, 30c is 104f...yeah it's been super hot here as well. The humidity changes everything as well. That tent comes together easier than our Coleman! That ipa sounds delicious! Did the conversion from £ to $ and the tent would be $165 for us Americans. It is quite smaller than what we have, but I do agree it would be good for cooler weather. We do like to sleep in complete darkness, so I might actually get this sooner than later.

Lovely video I love the fact you try something new every time we see you, and give us an honest answer. Love where you go, so peaceful you can just sit and gather your thoughts. Thanks for taking us with you, see you next time 😊

Love your videos. Maybe add temperature info with the time so we can get a good gauge. Just an idea 💡 😉

I really really like that tent because if I were to go camping, I would need an easy to put up and take down tent. I was impressed by how thick the material is. Thanks Andy. I always look forward to watching your videos. And gosh, that waffle couldn't have come out any better than that! ❤❤❤❤❤

Really rate most stuff bought from Decathlon. Well built and long-lasting! Would love to see you test the camping equipment that Home Bargains sells. They have a huge range of bits, and I'm very curious as to if it's any good. Stay safe 😊

That’s my kind of tent right there! I can’t sleep unless it’s nice and dark and I prefer having that extra darkness in the summer as the sun rises so early! Great video as always, I’ve recently moved from Kent to the Isle of Man and I’m hoping to wild camp here and document it all eventually, once I’m settled and I’ve managed to get all the gear and a tent that is 😅

Was in a Decathlon the other day having a nosey and i was quite impressed with this thicker material they use which blocks out a lot of light.

When it rains you need a polyester fold away rain coat with a hood..just give them a shake and the droplets fly off..they're not heavy and keep you dry and fold up in small parcel..amazon or e bay..😊

we've got one of the Decathlon inflatable tents with the same material/blackout tech, the other great feature is that they don't heat up in the sun, so you don't get cooked by the early morning sun, and for family camping they mean that mum and dad can get a bit of a lie in! when i'm out camping on my own i stick to more traditional type tents though.

You can also splash water on a log and let it set…..throw on the fire and it’ll smoke those misquitos away. Works well

I got one of these tents in northern Spain at the beginning of this week as the tent i had with me got rather bird struck before i got the ferry across and was not cleaning off. I saw this on in Decathlon and thought it worth a go and have been quite pleased. I am motorcycle camping for 4 weeks so though its a bit larger packed down than my old tent its not by much and it straps to the bike fine.

I kid you not, but I had exactly the same meal last night, with pork. We are canoeing - inspired by you and Simon - Norway/Sweden. We had the Aldi TGC packs with us and the Tilda rice. While portaging, we parked the canoe in the Coop car park, as you do.😂 Bought the pork and some 3.5% beer 🙄. Then, we found a great spot, had a fire and feasted! My brother and brother-in-law have that tent, the next size up. They love it because they wake up too early with the sun in ordinary tents. Sorting wood in that heat is no joke. No worries on that score here. 😢

Thanks Andy, I always really enjoy your videos, your an amazing guy and when you and Simon are together it electric, so thank you for everything. Just wondering have you ever tried a thermacell for the Migies. I find very good and clears a 20 m radius. It just connects to your butane cylinder. Works well for me. Anyways thanks Andy and I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Cheers. 👍🇮🇪👍
