Really nice simple camp ... with all the camp ingredients. Basic accommodation... good tasty but simple food, and a touch of rain too... not forgetting a tasty sausage and egg breakfast... perfect combo!

I enjoyed this basic camp, using classic equipment and the folding twig stove. Proper wood processing is good to review. I felt Mark went a little 'light' on the rump steak supper.

I imagine a Whelen tarp would be perfect for the UK - not much in the way of mosquitoes, no deer flies, no wolves or yotes, and only one dangerous snake. I hope it serves you well for many years to come. ☺

I really like that tarp. I would set up my poncho as a lean to when I bank fished. Always hated the "sag" in the back where yours has a pole.

I’m envious… can’t do this right now because of burn restrictions - high wildfire danger -but it’s really just what I need. So glad you and Marc were able to enjoy the time. It's a pretty simple design to copy, there's just a couple of seam intersections that are a bit bugger to do and if they're not right it'll be a weaker structure

Hi there, I made the tarp (I usually sell in ebay or on insta). Also if you search waxed cotton rather than oil cloth you'll get more hits with the British makers
