Hi from the U.s. I just discovered your videos the other day, and have watched a few. You are so respectful of the areas you occupy , like sure, you're there, but when you get fire wood you take only the dead ones. You put your shelters up and enjoy the spot, but when you leave it's like the land was never disturbed, I respect you for that. Thank you

I camped for several years while being a member of the Society for Creative Anachronists. Imagine camping during a hot summer in Texas in long, heavy medieval gowns! And yes, there were many a time it rained very hard, especially during the nights. I had a rather large dome tent when they first came out here in the States. I usually didn't have the great food you cooked, but learned how to make a pretty good stir fry with a small propane stove. We usually camped 2 or 3 nights, except for once a year going to Pennsylvania for the Pensic War, which was a week at that time. Good times! I finally left because of politics and rocks under the sleeping mat. I enjoy watching you - may have to find a nice tree on my tiny ranch, try to escape the fire ants, and do a little camping - without the historical gowns and a softer bed for this aging body!😊

Ive camped a lot in the past, in the Lake District but with mates. Im lucky that my wifes Dad, still owns a few acres from the farm he was raised on. Its close by. Ill be camping on that. I wont lie, im slightly anxious about it. I have no idea why. Prolly just plain old fear of the dark. But, I love being in nature. I bought a Hilleberg Atko about 20 years ago off Ray Mears site. Its been in the loft. Time to put it to use. Please Keep the videos coming.

Something my daddy told me years ago when I was a wee lad, when we used wood and kerosene (paraffin for you brits) exclusively to heat our home. I am 53 now and I've lived by these words every since. The moment you think you got enough wood to last, double it and then double it again. Then you're in the ballpark on how much you need.
