Shaedon was the best 10-year-old football player in Ontario when he was a teammate of my son. The pair played LB, Shaedon was QB while my son played WR (mostly to block for Shaedon), they both played special teams and Shaedon was the placeholder when my son kicked extra-points. Shaedon later shifted his focus on basketball and my on soccer. Even at 10, Shaedon was on another level athletically. He always ran like he was gliding at half-speed as he zoomed past opponents.

My son is now in his first year at McGill University in Montreal. He's playing soccer intramurally but wants to focus on his studies, new friends and enjoying Montreal.

As someone who watched Shaedon from the sidelines every day when he and my son were on the same football team, Shaedon at age 10 would looking like he was just gliding at half-speed and still blowing past every defender on the field. He was easily the best football player in Ontario before he decided to focus on basketball. My son was one of the better athletes on the team but there was a massive gap between Shaedon and everyone else in the league (which played against the top teams across the province).

Different types of explosion.. Really Green catches the eye bc so much goes into the way he puts so much force into exploding but the fact that Sharpe last vert was measured at 45” in 2020 and he can just rise up at anytime from almost any position, in between step etc., and does so with this crazy spring that catches you off guard bc he goes to get up and suddenly ur jaws dropping bc he just keeps going and has that elite body control and hang time that seems like he chills for a sec and then contorts his body to finish in and around and over traffic with either hand is crazy!!! I like Sharpe’s natural all around skill set better! Facilitates well, has a great pace and ability to not get sped up to his game, really good at changing pace, direction on a dime, and the big key just has a lot more natural shooting stroke. Ball comes softly off his hands, gets a lot of good bounces and rolls where Jalen is more of a streaky shooter who needs a little more room to shoot his outside jumper more efficiently… Obviously Green is a stud rookie, Sharpe hasn’t done it yet on a level higher than H.S. But in terms of just all around natural ability skill set, ability to get shot anytime when needed on the move from all areas of the floor and do so more fluid and smoothly is Sharpe! Think Green will be a excellent high level elite athlete player who can catch fire and take a game over. I don’t know if he will ever be a consistent elite shooter, but he will develop. I also don’t know how well of a facilitator and making those around him better that he will be! I feel Sharpe has the selfless attitude not to mention more important good feel for drawing help and setting others up.. More ways to consistently score based on skill set in tough situations, just overall better pace and feel, instead of full out explode and try to continuously get where he needs and win with just speed and extreme athleticism.. Sharpe has that obviously, but seems to have more ways to do things when that of finesse and skill and feel are more needed.. I would take my chances if both stay healthy and reach their potential ceilings in that of Sharpe for sure, imo.. But really although similar, also different type of players and how they go about getting what they need..

The player rankings should be scrapped. It’s all meaningless, and if anything is harmful to these young players. We had Hagans, a PG ranked 8th in his class, and he was a total bust. Virginia got Kihei Clark, same position and class, but he was ranked in the 390s according to 247. He helped lead UVA to a title as a freshman. But he has no NBA prospects, so he’s not for us 😒 Im so sick of our program revolving around the NBA

Well it’s AAU Highlights! Lol You can find plenty game footage where plenty attempted to do so! Lol He isn’t getting hype based on fact that he’s fooled everyone elite recruiters, coaches, etc., bc he has been sliding by and looking much more than his skill set really offers bc he hasn’t been guarded at ANY TIME throughout his young career! But they are to stupid to realize this.., the evaluators, college coaches, nba scouts etc.. Kinda like the young kid matures faster than everyone in middle school and scores 20 a night bc he is stronger faster and beats everyone routinely down the floor with right handed layups, and ppl who have no clue can’t see that the kid doesn’t possess that of a skill set or natural talent that has room to grow and become elite hs player, but they see 20pts a night and most dominant player on floor to only see the kid end up on the bench and eventually quitting in hs bc he just isn’t good enough to play! Lol Think this is a lot similar, they see elite athleticism and solid build good pace, and high level finishing ability and a consistent jumper, since he shot over 40% from 3pt, but it’s actually irrelevant bc he has done this ONLY while not being guarded! Although this being AAU highlights I could have sworn I seen MULTIPLE…, ACTUALLY QUIET A FEW CONTESTED JUMPERS OFF THE DRIBBLE FROM BEYOND THE ARC, to that of long 2,s and mid range pull up jumpers and short corner turn around, step back, and fade away jumpers! Actually now that I think about it, I believe I seen quiet a few attack the lane, meet someone in the air, take contact, hang and flip and finish with either hand! Which for an AAU highlight video all except that of the main ending of the video which is a summer all star game scrimmage that is just trotting up and down with zero defense, actually more examples than one normally might find in these type videos! Soooooo, looking back not seeing this entire video of uncontested scoring over and over until the last bit of the all star scrimmage.. hmmmm
