I remember having $500 on Mucho Macho Man in the 2012 Classic and Hernandez gave Fort Larned a peach of a ride to win the race.

Just watched a tape of Calvin BoRail on Mine That Bird. Brian's ride reminded me so much of that race. Congratulations to you all.

Very personable and well spoken young man. I can see him being a TV race commentator or analyst someday.

He did his homework. He was able to execute to plan all race. Kept to it. He and horse shared bravery and determination in the moment of truth and opportunity. Champs together. Horse and rider.

VOW BEFORE THE KING JOCKEY BRIAN HERNANDEZ...HE HAD THE BIG BRASS TO GET THROUGH THAT TINY HOLE BY THE RAIL. HE'S THE NEW "BO-RAIL MAN."

When you look at both Rich Strike jockey and Mystic Dan you realize that both used their skills to win the Derby! And not the horse! It was pure jockey skill!

Must be your first time watching a race huh

The horse had to be willing to go through the space. Without the horse there is no race. Jockey and horse are a team.

Thank Joel Rosario for horrendous race riding , drifting off the rail and giving him a free pass to the lead

Mystic Dan won because Hernandez had him on the rail and had just enough to hold off the others.

DAN WAS VERY LUCKY TO WIN. DON’T GET ME WRONG, HE RAN A GREAT RACE BUT SL WAS LENGTHS BETTER. THAT IS, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WATCH A HORSE RACE. IF SL EVER LEARNS TO RUN STRAIGHT DOWN THE STRECH AND NOT LEAN ON HORSES (BROWN OF COURSE SAID, HE WAS A TIRED HORSE-HUH?) HE’LL BE A MONSTER. HE WAS 9 WIDE AT THE TOP OF THE STRETCH..LEANED ON THAT HORSE UNTIL HE WAS 4 WIDE AT THE WIRE. AND WTF WAS TYLER DOING AT THE FINISH LINE WITH HIS LEFT ARM? HOW COME NO ONE SEES THIS SHIT? I SAW IT LIVE AND NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING. ALSO, ARE THE JAPANESE TOO POLITE TO CLAIM FOUL. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN 2nd THERE. HOW COME THERE WAS NO INQUIRY? OH YEAH, ITS KENTUCKY STEWARDS, ENOUGH SAID. NO, I DID’NT PLAY FOREVER YOUNG AND NO, I’M NOT A DISGRUNTLED FAN. I QUIT PLAYING YEARS AGO BECAUSE THE GAME “SUCKS”!

When 🐎 racing mixes with politics, it's actually some of the best people in this world mixing with some of the worse.
