I just bought one of these, and tried it quickly on the way home. Worked even better than I expected. Took 1-2 minutes getting it fitted the way I wanted, and that was it. Strongly recommend this product.

Clear, objective and solid review; very nicely done. I assume by the layout of the rubber cone that the phone can only be mounted with the face at 90 degrees to the vent? e.g. If the vent was too far to the side of the steering wheel it would face into the car rather than toward the driver?

I didn't like mounting to the air vent due to heat issues with my phone, so I cut off the clips and used a Niteize steelie mount adhesive piece and put it on the steelie mount. It works great.

I've had one of these type Vent Holders before and ditched it, as it came out *way* too easily. I was also worried about the "drop-down," issue with horizonital vents. I switched to one with clips on, an "S" Type and that was fine until I put my iPhone 6 into a Magpul Bump Case, which is obviously too heavy for the Holder, as going round corners, or over bumps it knocks the side grip open and moves forward on the little feet, meaning that I have to keep pushing it back in place and worrying that eventually, it'll fall out and be damaged. So, I went back to looking at these things and realized that *most* of them have *two* fittings for the vent, one for larger, one for smaller and I hadn't realized this before. So, I bought a cheap one from Halfords in the UK and gave it a go. Sure enough, the smaller channel on the back fitted very snugly on my vent, so, obviously, I'd not tried this, the first time round :O) It's a bit bulkier than the Kenu variety, but I love the way it grips the phone. I won't be taken mine anywhere, it's firmly planted in the vent and it's staying there. Regarding the "drop/pull-down," effect, I simply place it in the highest grill and allowed it to sink into place and for me, it's in the perfect spot!

A really great car mount. But the another day, my mound suddenly started to glide off, when I want to take off my iPhone. It is like the mount grip has become looser. I don't know why this suddenly happened over one day only. That is a bit annoying, because i really like it, and think it's the best mount I've ever used before.
