@@luvradios looks like the RMS rating at low THD is 20x2 for the front channels and 37x2 for the rears. I'll check out the power in mine as soon as I make up input adapters and get a chance to test it out. I know they used these DIN plugs back in the day to kinda force people to use other components from the same brand, but it's a bit of a pain these days to not just have RCA inputs.

@@wal I seem to recall Kenwood either including a short DIN to RCA female adapter or packaging it as an accessory you could buy?

35F & 70R is correct. I've owned this amp for over 30 years and am going to be placing it in another vehicle with a newer style system. I just talked to a Kenwood tech specialist with JVC out of NY who confirmed that in an unrelated conversation. I also kind of remember from the old days - sounds right. Great video, going to need this information with my next install. Cheers!

For the speaker cables, how do you know which one is + and which one is - ? I am assuming that the striped are positives

Would you know the size of the male pins on the power input connection cables or fabricate a new plug that fits
@luvradios8 ай бұрын
I dont know the actual size of the pins but I would think you could buy a Molex connector pin kit with various sizes on eBay or Amazon.

Scotty, thanks for watching! Definitely would make a great highs/mids amp for sure.

@@luvradios When I owned this in my first F150 I paired it with two Kenwood boxes behind the seat with 10" woofers and horns on top if I remember correctly. It provided plenty of bass kick (not by today's standards though) but still more of a mid-range style like you state. I also upgraded the door speakers but can't remember with what.

Great video for the info i need to wire it in. Any recommendations of what spec of speakers would pair well with this? i like em loud!

What size din connectors did u use I have the same amp and I’m wanting to get it working

Chad, I didn't use actual DIN plugs, I made up individual pins with wires attached to go into the female DIN sockets.

I have the same kac8020, it turns on, I have the red LED but I have no sound on either channels ( front/rear ) I hear a very low noise in the speaker but that's it. The speaker is like 15W RMS and this thing can output upto 80W/Ch. When I plug a BT DAC to it that works on headsets you can hear the noise when you plug the jack, but aboslutely no other sound comes out (except the constant background noise). Not sure what could it be yet, I took it apart but it seems fine... Any idea ?

LE: Actually I don't have sound on the FRONT, but it works perfectly on the REAR... It tuns on on the front, but I get no sound at all...
