I've drove trucks since 1999. I've drove and owned everything from a Volvo 780 to a Peterbilt 379. I've drove older trucks like a Freightliner FLD and newer trucks like a Kenworth 660. I tried to drive a Kenworth 680 and it's by far the weirdest sitting and most uncomfortable truck "to me" i've ever driven. I like the way they look but i can't get over the weird styling. I know I'm in the minority but that's ok. Glad you like your truck.

Glad you are enjoying your new truck and I hope it gives you years of trouble free service. Software will eventually raise it's dirty head. But that will be a while Thanks for the update 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Well we have been dealing with regen on trucks since 2008 and def since 2011 so it’s normal by now. The 2017 emissions is the third generation and seems to have most of the earlier bugs worked out. My 17 cascadia had no emission related issues while a 14 I used to drive was plagued with them. Like anything else that is new they seem to figure the bugs out as they go. Seems the third generation is pretty good and far far better than the first two generations

Thank you for this update. Just bought a 2020 T680 with the X15 efficiency engine and the 12 speed endurant transmission. I was wondering something since you have the Paccar motor. Do you ever notice a low hum noise that kind of pulsates? (Like goes loud-soft-loud-soft) There is a low hum in my new T680 that isn’t terribly loud but is low in frequency and it drives me NUTS listening to it all day. I can drown it out with the radio loud enough but I don’t always want to listen to the radio. It occurs when the engine is engaged in moving forward. It goes quiet when the truck coasts in neutral and when the jake is engaged. Does your truck do this? Mine only has 2,000 miles on it so far but I don’t know if I can stand listening to this pulsating hum all day everyday until I trade it in for a different one 3-4 years from now once it’s paid down a bit...

Hey, good video thanks for the update. I was watching Jeff's owner review video. I was looking at his points moving from a 97 ftl at 6 mpg at 62mph and moving to T680 with 8 mpg. Then you popped up and say it's 7 mpg at 65mph. If you don't mind for your Trk what is the cost of cargo and auto liability insurances. It'll be next week before I get estimates from the agency. I've got a quote on buying out right, rent/leasing it already.

Well this truck is still not broken in and the one time I checked the mpg it was 7.25! Since I’m leased to Jeff I don’t pay the cargo or liability insurance. I only cover my comprehensive and collision.

The 379 and 386 are nowhere near the same cab because you know because you kept backing up on what you said, I had a '94 379 EXHD Pete 320 inch wheel base, 18 speed with double overdrive. 3:36 rears running 24.5 low profile all the way around. On the Dyno at the CAT shop it would run 120mph on flat ground loaded to the max of 80,000 pounds it had a 450 CAT turned up 15% over factory settings

Well to be honest, only months after purchasing the truck my wife decided she wanted a divorce. This left me unable to maintain the business. What I will say about the paccar, it’s less expensive to purchase, lighter. I’m currently driving a 2018 Peterbilt 389 with the paccar 510hp/1850tq and an18 speed with 3.42 rears on 24 low pro rubber. It easily out pulls all of our dd15 freightliner trucks even the ones with 3.90 rears. Never been to the shop, has over 210k miles and no APU.

@haroldhuffmaniii19824 жыл бұрын
That’s only true if you are running your clock out every day. Medium length higher per mile runs where u don’t run 600 miles a day are more profitable and you don’t run your truck hard.
@bigpapi1014 жыл бұрын
Harold Huffman III well I ran both we rates were high; I could go from Ohio to the east coast running 70 and make 2000 a day; deadhead back to Ohio the next day, and do the same thing over and over at 2000 a pop! Min 6000 a week; there’s no way I came close on medium unless the loads were paying at 1000- 1500 for 300 miles
@haroldhuffmaniii19824 жыл бұрын
Probably true, but you run more miles at less mpg and burn more fuel. How much more net revenue did you really do?
@bigpapi1014 жыл бұрын
Harold Huffman III my truck is wide open; generally I purchase fuel from Speedway which I get about 9.0 in the mountains with the exception of super heavy going up hill; on flat top, south... 11 plus all day at 70-75; fuel on a weekly basis I spend no more than 780 to 850 max for gross revenue of 5500 - 7500; take home generally 3400-4200, now I’m coming back out in a couple; quarantine and I’m sure I’ll be close again
@haroldhuffmaniii19824 жыл бұрын
Ok. I’m not going to continue a discussion if we are not going to be honest. I’ve been driving almost 20 years, I know there isn’t a truck out there getting 9mpg running wide open thru Pennsylvania to the east coast from Ohio. Not sure what the argument is anyhow. There is no argument that you make more money driving faster. It’s not a debate. If you run 70 and I run 62 you go about 70-80 miles more in a day if we both ran 11 hours. But you spend more on fuel and that isn’t debatable either.
