Kenworth T680, Paccar , Eaton transmission problem, 1st time

KW T-680 Transmission Shifting problem :( up in the right side where it’s showing in what gear is the truck it’s supposed to blink once or twice then accelerate again , but mine takes sometimes 1-5-10 blinks sometimes docent even want to go in the gears, I had to shut my truck off and wait for a couple seconds then start the truck again and one day didn’t want to go on the gear 15 times this is not all the videos just couple I could film :(

Mate, find the lever next to your seat, turn off the power and wait 5 minutes or remove the 30 amp fuse from the fuse box, which is next to the relay, and replace it. After 3 minutes, the transmission works again.

Do you also have a T680 with a paccar engine? Because im currently looking at one with a 13 speed as well 2015 and 518k miles but ive seen alot of bad reviews about the paccar engines.

The same thing happened to me the other day, t680 2020 , trainee was driving, so I shutoff the truck for 30 minutes in the meantime I moved key to on and off for 10 times quick to restart the computer, after 30 minutes truck was fine, computer supposed to fix itself, then my trainee took over and the problem occurred again, so I realized that what was happening was he was engaging into gear without holding the break paddle properly, truck will engage into gear but believe it or not you will grind an automatic trans, so these trucks you have to hold the break paddle, release the air breaks, put in drive then release break paddle, pain in the ass, I want my 13 speed back

Its the Transmission harness that's bad you need to replace the harness. The prongs go bad just like the head light harness prongs. Heat and cold weather is not good on copper electrical prongs

Replace your yoke stick pick it up at Kenworth for 250 bucks for Crews plug-and-play Problem fixed. Kenwood sub your yoke stick is losing signal to the ECM

@Mihail G What if the exact axle ratio value has to be manually set in the software after it is flashed? And what is the differential ratio of the gearbox? How much horsepower does the MX-13 have?

I don’t know what Axel you have? Fi MX 13 I will go ratio axle between 3.5 - 3.19 on manual transmission, my truck has 510 hp 1850 torque But if your truck it’s older than 19 you can go 500 hp , On my truck it’s automatic and the it’s axle 2.79 , I drive 72 mp wit only 1300rpms and up hills 6% 80k lb Batman 37-47 pm Miles ph up hills depends on altitude oxygen and humidity:) You see on Paccar The torque on the engine it on 510 hp it’s between 1050 - 1350 rpm , And horsepower it’s 1250 - 1550 rpm sow I choose this axels to drive exactly on sweet spot , usually drive all the time between 67 & 73 all the time

Could the microcontroller box that moves the forks be removed? Then a mechanic could drill a hole to install a shifting stick. But then the engine's computer would have to be reconfigured to not expect the shifting computer to exist anymore.

@@wanderingfido Only have to check if your truck it’s older than 2019 they have the older Transmission you can take The CNC motors and computer off and put a stick shift on top it like manual no difference and CNC Motor on the clutch and put manual clutch that’s all

On top the transmission there on two sensors that tell the transmission when to shift it looks like u have one that’s bad I changed both sensors on my rig and no longer have this problem

It must really be lousy to be driving a large truck tractor and trailer rig down the highway and suddenly have an automated or automatic transmission breakdown that brings the truck to a stop. All these modern automatic or automated transmissions whether on cars or large trucks are all microprocessor controlled and all it takes is one of the many sensors going bad to cause a breakdown. The main issue is how reliable is this particular model of Truck Transmission? It costs time and money when breakdowns like this occur. It is also aggravating.

But I mean if there's a separate computer-controller box bolted on top of the gearbox, can't it be removed? Could they drill a hole and install a stick shift so you can move the existing shifting forks yourself?

They fix the Issues but now he starts from fall - Springs when it’s cold 🥶 Outside and the oil it’s not warm up 170F above the transmission grind the gear ⚙️ And the last week I change the oil pan and coolant reservoir that’s in common with a Paccar :(
