I agree with your ratings. I have learned a lot here. Never knew Kisii and Meru were that big. I fell in love with Kericho on the very first sight. Very clean and organized. If we purpose to plan our cities, we can be just like any other cities in the western world. Give it approx 10yrs with serious planning. I always feel like Nakuru and Eldoret can compete but Eldoret might have more potential due to the airport. That was good presentation brother.

Kericho is one of the most beautiful places in Kenya. Eldoret is beautiful, affordable foodwise, has a great business enviroment, but needs organization and infrustructural expansion to cope with the increased population ,it also has a very good climate.

Thanks Afrikan Traveller for keeping your word and populating the list of major Kenyan towns. Just a note, Eldoret is also an important and rapidly growing healthcare centre in Kenya due to its humorous good hospitals. In your next list you could also take a look at Kapsabet, a nice growing town
@jonnesmwangi32503 жыл бұрын
Awesome video... Eldoret is ripe for a city considering the 250,000 population threshold required... With few infrastructure improvement, it will soon be a city... The other 9 will require massive investment to come close to a city. While they can achieve 250,000 threshold this decade, infrastructure to sustain a city status will require more time.. We hope devolution will accelerate the infrastructure development.... Also, Garissa town is quite underrated

Development of Tatu city in Ruiru ,is ongoing, implying Thika might eventually link up, in development with these towns' infrastructures, to form a conglomerate major city ,just adjacent to Nairobi capital city ,with green landscape ,leisure and relaxation ,mix of urban and rural .

Okay guys I'm from Kabarnet but I'm currently studying at Kisii University and actually Kisii town is massive and what people don't know is that kisii town is like a mini metropolis comprising of small residential areas filled with apartments,,,,,, I've also realised the town is a financial and commercial hub for South Nyanza and South Rift regions,,,,,,,, another thing is that Kericho Town is quarter the size of kisii Town no joke,,,,,,,,But Kisii Town has a problem which is poor planning and there's always huge traffic during rush hours every day except Sundays..

This is a great 👍documentary of big towns to be considered for city status. You have to note that with the Amendment of Urban Areas and Cities Act has now classified all County Headquarters as Municipalities. So Kericho, Meru, Kakamega, etc are Municipalities. But also additional ones are Municipalities such as Naivasha, Thika etc are also Municipalities whic is added unit layer of service delivery for the County residents. My only omission here is Narok and Bungoma towns.
