It can never end. Politics is always a divisive tool, anywhere in the world and in human history. The problem is when we obsess about it like in Kenya. I think we should aim to separate economics from the government, so that we can live normal lives and reduce political impact.

Let's face it. Those who were alive during Kenyattas rule know what I am saying. If you are 60 and below keep quiet. Kenyatta did a good job even Nyerere said it. Kenya developed rapidly you could believe it. Of course when he grew old his friends took advantage of him and stole and killed using his name. But Kenyas real destruction began with Moi and it continues til today. However there was a short break with Kibaki. I didnt read this in books or depended on other people knowledge. I witnessed everything ! Kenya was so stable with Kenyatta that 24 years of Mois abuse couldn't bring it down. And children below 50 keep quite and seek info from people who saw it all. Books lie !
@Kager022 жыл бұрын
Kenyatta's betrayal of Oginga is the root cause of tribalism in Kenya.I fail to understand why you would betray the very person that demanded for your release and even relinquished his quest for presidency just for your release.It was the Limuru conference that messed this country. Moi tried uniting Kenya through Kanu and it was until the failed coup in 1982 masterminded by the likes of Charles Njonjo that annoyed him and brought out his ruthless side.It is worth commending that Moi willingly gave up power at a time when Africa was having strong dictators like Gaddafi and Mugabe.Moi's contribution to education,healthcare and infrastructure in this country is commendable.So I hereby disagree with you,Kenyatta did more harm to this country than Moi
@Kager022 жыл бұрын
Kenyatta's policy of awarding colonial lands to colonial chiefs is the root cause of squatters in Kenya and is what led to the rise of few African Kenyan billionaires at the expense of others
@lusigijustus7274 Жыл бұрын
Kenyatta found a functioning government bequeathed to him by the colonialists. A civil service, armed forces and a generally functioning state. Before you blame others, who replaced people in positions of authority with his tribesmen? A kikuyu tribal elite literally took over land, judiciary and the executive. Now, the same elite was on record saying the presidential motorcade will never cross river chania. Now, for you to blame moi, regardless of your self confessed statement that anyone under 60,should not comment here, shows your jaundiced view of the situation at hand. You must be among those in this country who only think that certain people rule well coz they come from certain areas. Another person who rules using the same instruments but comes from another region is unfit to run the state. Big shame though.

The colonial narrative is that the colonialists have the right to go to other nations and illegally decide the amalgamations of different ethnic Nations by force. They plan such amalgamations as seeds of perpetual conflicts but radio the propaganda of African tribalism in order to blame the victims of their colonial crime. In Europe today, virtually every ethnic Nation is a sovereign country or a devolved polity with only two exceptions but in Africa too many ethnic Nations still remain trapped in the old colonial bundles making it virtually impossible to avoid conflicts. Each ethnic Nation in Africa must have its own sovereign country or devolved polity where the indigenous language is the prime official language. Then real integrity, independence and peace will commence. Until the old reckless abominable amalgamations caused by vandal colonialists are cancelled by woke Africans who reject the colonial creations, Africa would remain in an unnatural crisis of identity. Full stop.

Building a nation needs a viable economy and military....it is not as simple as you describe. None of our tribes can do this. Additionally immigration, intermarriage, have integrated many of these communities. There remain only few viable tribal states in Africa....maybe Somalia is the only one, and yet see it is currently split into Somalia, Jubbaland, Puntland, Galmudug, Somaliland etc....same people, same language same culture....yet they chose to split.
