Welcome to the Masai Mara, a preserved savannah with an abundance of African wildlife. This place is on the top choice for most safari-goers, which is why we HAD to include it on our most recent Kenya itinerary.
I’ve had the privilege of visiting the Mara several times throughout my life and each time I go it’s an entirely different experience. On this trip, Shelley and I went to the Mara North Conservancy, a conservancy that protects the northwestern zone of the greater Mara ecosystem. This place offers a much more exclusive and private experience because only guests of the few camps inside its confounds are allowed access to the area.
We traveled with the Elewana Collection on this adventure and stayed at their iconic Elephant Pepper Camp. This remote eco-camp overlooks the vast grasslands and sits in the heart of Mara North. We knew from the moment we arrived that THIS was the ultimate safari dream.
In today’s vlog I’m taking you with us on a morning game drive in this peerless wilderness. We’re going to check into our luxury tent and explore the areas around the camp. During our drive we’re going to keep an eye out for the big cat species that dominate these lands.
