This alerted me to the development of Kenya and l am very pleased to learn of it. The beginning part which has the familiar and tiresome complaint that good news is not news could have been cut and the reasons why the economy is performing so well explored in more detail. Stable government and sensible administrative reforms are part of the reason but there are other factors such as the creation of an export processing zone, investment in education and the development of financial services. This is important because it demonstrates growth is broadly based and therefore sustainable. If you look to the future the prospects are far better than economies based on a single commodity or sector. That is the real good news story.

My good friends in Samburu and Turkana would not recognise this country you show here... Regions largely forgotten by government for education and standard of living... tribal violence reaching epidemic proportions due to scarcity of resources (natural and man-made), resulting in daily killings and robbery of meagre cattle and livestock.... I don't know where to continue... No doubt some areas of Nairobi and wealthier parts (perhaps more Kikuyu people?) are flourishing... President Ruto the other day very happily, joyously and very proudly just presided over the digitization of all government services and payment systems and ordered a presidential decree that by December 2023 all government services and payment methods must have been digitized by then. He's doing all this to stop all corruption in Kenya for good. Considering the percentage achieved on the ongoing digitization process and the support President Ruto is giving it coupled with Kenya own technological capacity on the matter, a lot of success is expected on this front of eliminating corruption in Kenya for good.
