to some extent he is right.A car is mostly enough to tell the level of industrial development a country has.

the wright were high school drop out bycicle mechanics there fore practical and as the engeenier at the video said the nyayo was spear headed by university students and lecturers so they couldnt do a good job since university is theoritical rather than practical. same happened in the to built a heavier than air machine(air plane) in the us of a, a prominent professor of aero dynamics was heavily funded by the goverment to produce the same but he failed then semi irriterate bycicle mechanics came up with one a few years later using their own money.

To start with, choosing the university to do the work was wrong. Moi should have started a company that will do the work on research and eventually production. The likes of Ford, Fiat, VW, Morris... Secondly, there wa no need to re-invent the wheel. Kenya should have started by mixing imported parts and locally produced ones that were available e.g Firestone tyres, batteries, sheet metal, pipes, paints.....

Can u use the experience & knowledge to make something everyone locally needs? Small electrics or some other vehicle or power system?

@BoniOdinga-m5g3 жыл бұрын
Key things: machining, efficiency, education( we assume you can't be learned without education, Jua kali artisans are learned vs the educated) and top most: CORRUPTION. Total man wanted to eat a cow that had not even been conceived or at zygote stage. Props Engineer Onyango, at first I thought he was stupid...then I realised that he's a smart Kenyan...speaks in code and maintains political correctness that ensured he lived to tell the tale and did not join Dr Ouko. If we're not industrialised we can't do machining. Machining means exact/replaceable spare parts. A car is all about SPARE PARTS. That's why Mobius is doing a car in parts (all tendered out to diff countries)
