I said it the advisors to the government need to be fired. In any country when there is a shift in any systems and where we have leaders who think, they were supposed to make sure they have a mechanism incase it fails as in this case. And why do the money getting paid upfront getting accepted by the system but when it’s for returns the same system hangs ???

It's easy to sort this issue. Make a law that all civil servants can only access public services, and cannot go to private facilities. Health, education etc. They will streamline these sectors in record time.

The transition for this system was done poorly, and it will take long before everyone who is paying for SHA can use it. Don't make assumptions because you support the government. Here is an objective standard by which to measure SHIF. What was the promise of SHIF? What is it actually delivering? Even the examples given by the MP fall short: SHIF was to cover emergency care completely free. Maternity was to be completely covered. That the person had to go back to their pocket speaks of it's failure.... Really good that patients have been receiving treatment since October with claims by facilities been sent to SHA for payment,... what all this people are quiet about is that Facilities have not been paid and are now tittering on collapse,... the Good MP is speaking of plans while we have in reality failure looming and a stacked up list of pending bills because facilities have not been paid,.... I think it is important for media to go beyond surface discussions and dig into the roots,... forget soundbites,... get to the core...

Ruto may be a good poltician but lacks leadership qualities on how to run an organization. Ruto thinks just because he was elected President he now knows it all. He has never had any experience running an organization so he lacks the basic requsites of how to be a leader. A leader builds strong teams around them and holds them accountable for decisions they make. Just Like Kibaki did. it made his job easier and a better economy. But Ruto thinks politics first. The entire SHIf is a mess from the start go. You do not just uproot a health system just because the older one was bad. The problem in Kenya is mismanagmnet of everything by design to corrupt. Fix the problems in NHIF by having men and women of credibility and hold them accountable. If you want a new system you do a pilot project. take a few counties, have a pilot project for 1yr. See where the problems are, fix those and then seamlessly get other Kenyans to join.
