Wow I thought Chevdo sandwiches was a South African thing!. Nice to see commonality within the Gujarati diaspora. We have is with thick butter, and a spread of chhundo or pickle masala for a tangy unctuous flavour burst.

Very clever! I make this the long way at home due to nut allergies. I was surprised to see how your Chanda dal sank when ready as mine always floats. Santana, I am looking forward to some of traditional Diwali recipes from you as you are the best!

Wow.. I am missing that one from so long.I am getting the packets in super market but not that satisfying as it finishes within minutes. I used to made that in Kenya as it required lots of labor due to the potato kachris n other stuff and maids were there to help but here in Canada 🤷😭 I love eating with dahi and as topping on potato subzi

Okay, the most important thing for my family from Tanzania is to sprinkle some chevdo on your dal-bhat-shaak! My goodness, it’s a whole new concept! But East African Gujaratis are a breed apart from others 👍🏻

This is Indian snack not African. Africans dont snack they have wholesome food the evidence can be seen in their beautiful unblemished skin and beautiful white teeth from cradle to grave.
