Ms. Trudy, just a small point of correction; certain Ghanaians 🇬🇭 choose to eat Waakye (solid afternoon food) in the mornings purposely to keep their stomachs full to save them from getting hungry while (after couple of hours) mostly going to schools early in the mornings. Other traders & mechanics/entrepreneurs, also eat Waakye to ainly keep spending more money in the mornings & afternoons just to save money they already don't have to spend. That's the major reason why some Ghanaians do that, not all of us..🤷🏾♂️🤷🏻
@Ayimwaa7 ай бұрын
Crap!!! Waakye is considered breakfast meal, it’s hardly sold in the afternoon or evening
@SamuelComah7 ай бұрын
You're right my dear, i was wondering when they say waakye is Ghanaian breakfast. I'm an Fante and we take bread and tea as our breakfast or kokoo and bread, we can also eat Accra kenkey as breakfast or waakye that means you are going do some heavy work that morning, like construction job. Not every Ghanaian eat waakye as breakfast.
@Voavicky7 ай бұрын
@@Ayimwaa It's not true. Waakye is also sold in the Afternoons and Evenings at so many places in Ghana. It all depends on where you are living in Ghana. It has even been observed that, Waakye sold at nights or Evenings are mostly Special and more Expensive than the ones sold in the Mornings which I think may be determined by the forces of Demand and Supply in the city or at that particular location. Waakye is being enjoyed all day long in Ghana.🇬🇭

So it's not a Ghanaian breakfast 🤔 If not, what is an authentic Ghanaian breakfast? I am only interested in traditional African 🇯🇲🇯🇲
@Mimi-jk9jc7 ай бұрын
As a Ghanaian,I take porridge(maize, rice water) , tea, oblayo or ekuegbemi for breakfast. Waakye isn't Ghanaian breakfast,however some people are taking that to keep them for longer hours. @@RVin-and-Travelin
