Me and my family visited Mombasa at a really nice resort the week of June 27th and it was beautiful! The only issue I had was it was difficult to walk on the beach due to all the people that want to approach you and have you buy something, give you a tour, and other things. My two step daughters were ripped off because a man asked them for money to make them a bracelet. He said he would have it in a couple of hours but never showed up. Was the stepdaughters, who are black, getting scammed for the first time. Taught them a lesson! We are a white American/black Kenyan blended family. We even went to the security at the edge of the resort and the beach to let them know this happened. They apparently knew the guy and his friends, and his friend called him and he was going to come right away and deliver what they bought within the hour. Three hours later, never showed up. So please blow off these people who are trying to get you to do things. Sad and takes away from the beautiful area.

Have you ever thought that some white people spend their hard earned money to come see your beautiful country because it’s a once in a lifetime experience for them? For you to assume that all white people are rich is very stereotypical. That’s like a white person assume that all Africans are scammers, thieves and thugs. I visited Nairobi and Mombasa a year ago and was met with the same Mizungo BS being charged 3-4 times that of locals. I will never be able to afford it again because it’s so expensive. But had always wanted to go. And while I was glad I went and enjoyed it I won’t again because of people with attitudes as yours.
