It is desperate Haitians fleeing and burdening other countries. We need to make clear two things the media keep getting wrong. Kenya is not sending "troops." They are sending specially trained police. Troops are "war fighters" not police. Also, they are not "Peacekeepers." There is no peace to "keep." Peacekeepers are a military force that goes in to a place to uphold a "fragile peace" that has been agreed to by warring parties. There has been NO such agreement.

Other countries responded and Kenya volunteered to lead the mission involving those other countries to help Haiti. Haiti is a totally different ball game. Ruto is being used exactly how Idi Amin was used to crush Kenyans who were agitating against appropriation of Kenyan land by white colonialist settlers. The west has been doing _terrible_ things in Haiti for over 200 years. The current issues are the direct result of a US & French-sponsored coup against a president democratically elected by 90% of Haitians. President George Bush called his French counterpart Chirac to celebrate the successful coup. We're being used to force down undemocratic choices on Haitians. Had parliament and legal challenges etc not slowed down our mission, we would have been used to uphold the leadership of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who was imposed and not elected by anyone. It was clear that the unrest was because the people didn't want Henry, and the west surrendered and asked him to resign. So we would have dealt with the superficial symptoms of Haiti, not the underlying issue. Yet we still want to deal with the symptoms, because we're being paid. When over 200,000 (!!) Haitians died in the aftermath of an earthquake a little over a decade ago, NONE of our politicians said anything, let alone even _consider_ sending any form of help. Now Kenyans want to pretend how they care about Haitians when one or two people die, because white Uncle Sam told us to do so in August 2023, after noting the extraordinary ability of our policemen to terrorize and subdue black people during the _maandamano_ protests a month prior, when dozens of Kenyans were eliminated in cold blood, by clandestine squads in civilian clothing. We had NO established diplomatic relations before August 2023. Kenyans, because of temporary political alignment, are willing to inflict permanent consequences on fellow human beings, including fellow Kenyans. "Temporary" because our political choices and their grouping changes like the weather.
