It can be done by just a little bit of orderliness in the CBD.He need to work on the markets in the estates to accommodate those hawkers and come up with ways of controlling traffic jam.By doing that he will have solved almost 70 % of the problems talked about because there would be few gabbages blocking the drainage system and making the cbd filthy.

Politics & cartels have ruined Nairobi. The city is lawless, chaotic & congested. Nrb doesn't need a political governor but a career manager. With NMS Gen. Badi out the best bet would be the No- Nonsense firebrand Miguna Miguna. Who knows where MM disappeared to ??

"City of Chaos" yes I agree, mainly because of the disorganized and lack of traffic management. Nairobi needs a well organized transportation system like those found in Kinshasa, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Tanzania. A well organized bus system will replace the matatus and boda boda...hence less hectic and chaotic mess. Thanks for sharing, great documentary👍

Kinshasa,Lagos,Cairo having the same problems👉 limited road infrastructure and lack of traffic management resources. What you see here in Nairobi is nothing compared to Lagos,Nigeria with a population of 22 million which is now pushing towards the creeks and land reclamation from the sea to ease down the chaos.Nairobi can overcome this with the right urbanisation policy in place but this will cost money....a lot of money.

Why do you casuals always have to bring up other cities or countries whenever there is some criticism about Kenya or our city....? Like 'Why you beat your wife?'' ...''Oh, my neighbour beat his wife too and even in America I saw a man beat his wife''.....STOP IT! We are a country that had the largest economy than South Korea in 1978 and even gave them a Loan back in the 70S AFTER TO RECOVER FROM THE WAR(GOOGLE IT) Why not compare Kenya and it's cities to that then ? We don't compare ourselves to mediocrity to feel better. Be smart

@alexbanj7a7bc 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, bring Lagos/Nigeria into it just to make yourself feel better with the disaster that is Nairobi. Shirking your responsibilities and obfuscating is what you the rest of Africa are very good at doing. Whenever your short-comings are exposed, you all bring Nigeria/Nigerians into it even when it's got nothing to do with Nigeria/Nigerians just to deflect and take attention away from your problems. That's what you all do as fellow Africans, and that's why in the case of Kenya as seen in this video, you have that quotidian chaos that is the defining characteristic of that overrated/over-documented capital city called Nairobi. Lagos/Nigeria is doing fine. I would like to let you know. Lagos/Nigeria recognizes its problems and it's doing a lot to find solutions to those problems.

When they ask Kenyans abroad to come back home, why would anyone come home with this madness- you can't drive without potholes, stima kupotea every second, if you walk they steal from you, traffic...oh my gosh...traffic. I was there 4 years ago and it took 3 hours from westlands to nairobi city center! I'm not even kidding you! This madness started in 1990, 34 years later and this is the aftermath of poor urban development planning. Nairobi’s population in 1990 was 1.3 million compared to the current population of 5.4 million, it’s time for other counties to to be developed so that other services can be decentralized. The same system that works in the west. Though we have a long way to go.

Does it trouble anyone that Jubilee govt spent millions building a bus station huko uhuru parks, and years later after its completion no vehicle uses it? yet we still struggling with chaos in CBD? Kenya is a funny country.

Fastest growing Yes. Beautiful city Yes. Historical city Yes. BUT - what is desperately missing from the onset is Organized Urban Design and Infrastructure. With the current floods this country is presently facing, upgraded water pipes, infrastructure, drainage , traffic redirection, overhead walking for pedestrians, central location for all bus pickups, sidewalk and street repair is desperately needed. Hopefully it will be implemented soon.

I never knew Nairobi is almost like Lagos 😂 thanks for showing this part

Like Lagos??? Any reason why you have to include Lagos so as to make reference to your point. You know damn well that the governor are working tirelessly to alleviate the occurrence of crumbling structures. The only problem with Lagos are the people who lacks education on environmental sanitation. Until these people are moved out of Lagos, City will still have crumbling structures.

These streets are THE BACK STREETS of Nairobi that you avoid like the plague. Even 15 years ago I would never go anywhere close to these areas so I can imagine what it must be like today.

One thing. About Nairobi is that there are no litter bins. You walk miles with your litter in hands

Nairobi is suffering from the common knee jerk reactions that are common within African leadership. Nairobi became extremely dirty and dark at night during Moi's days. Kibaki came along and things changed for the better. Then Uhuru, particularly with Gen Badi at the helm and things improved. With Sakaja Nairobi is now decaying at an unbearable speed. There are just never long term plans complete with culture change to anything. We are heading back to the rotten Nairobi of Moi days. The litter bins were there but they became rarer with every passing days with no signs of any structured replacement system.

It doesn't need a Governor. It needs NMS and that military man back as soon as possible.
