Kenzo "Flower EDP" Fragrance Review

My signature fragrance for 10 years. It is since it came out in spring 2000 a staple in my perfume collection. I still love and wear it. Soft and strong at the same time.

Lately I have been obsessed with powdery fragrances. After beating around the bush for a while, I bit the bullet and purchased it. I am in love with it. It is the perfect powdery scent. The silliage is amazing.

Love this fragrance. It has been in my wardrobe for a long time. My daughter's father absolutely loved it and it was one of his favorites out of my many fumes, so it's still special. Love powder and love plastic dollhead smell, too! Funny, I know. I gave away my bottle to a friend who loved it for her birthday...so, I will be repurchasing one of these days. I really love this in summer, but maybe I'll try for the cooler months that are on their way. I love your reviews. You are adorable and very knowledgeable. Keep up the great work!

C. Miller :) Thanks Cara. This one is definitely heavy on the powder but it's still gorgeous. Try NOT to think what a poppy would smell like when you smell it hehe. I think it's quite the opposite.

ouch110 Fragrance Reviews you're review of this stayed with me. I now have a bottle and love it. I usually don't like powdery or overly floral scents, but this one is unique. Just goes to show one should never write off whole fragrance families or particular notes. Rather, be willing to sniff a lot and there will always be surprises, both good and bad, but that's one of the many things I love about perfume...the search that brings the unexpected. I love this perfume. This used to be my moms signature scent and the drydown is to die for. When I tried it on me when I was younger it didn't smell good on me but now im almost 27 its such a lovely scent. Definitely baby powder vibe like barbershop shaving cream?? I love it. Great review like always.

Haha~ The 100ml is like a skyscraper! :D I myself prefer the proportion of the 30ml bottle, but I find it a good idea that 30, 50 and 100ml bottles each has a poppy in a different stage of blossoming. It's beautiful to place them side by side, but the 100ml is just HUGE. =O= This is my very first perfume received as a gift. Initially I wasn't enamoured by it, just wore it from time to time. But after I really started the perfume hobby, the more I smell other stuff, the more I start to notice the unique charm of Flower: it's powdery, but it has a certain diffusive, ghostly character, and it also has a weird synthetic/modern vibe which I find very addicting. Love it! =V=

I had a sample of this and I didn't care for it for a long time and I just put it on and it smells great. It reminds me of a spicier cashmere mist which I love. Now that you mention the Bulgarian rose, I do notice it. When I first smelled it, I felt it was too strong and smelled like an old lady but I completely disagree now. It mellows to soft and spicy like you said baby powder ❤

Loved...loved...loved your review!!! Your descriptions are always on point especially when you mentioned in one of your earlier replies that the scent seems "ghostly". It is weird because I used the word "haunting" to describe Kenzo Flower which is closely related to being ghostly. Not sure if I'm making any sense. But keep up the good work! By the way I have the EDT version and the difference that sets it apart from the EDP is that it is less powdery but it gets to keep the incensy vibe on the drydown. Best for someone who can't tolerate too much powder. ;-)

I grew up in the country and can recognise hawthorn a mile away, I personally think the powders edge to flower is the hawthorn.

Haha wow that bottle is huuuuuuge!! Very informative, i got a bottle of this for my gf a few years ago but it was just the 30ml or 50, i think i liked her wearing it but found it a bit too floral, for a perfume for me to smell on her anyway, my faves that she wears at the moment are hanae mori edp and a roberto cavalli one,

This was spot on, Tom! I don't like this fragrance though. It's way too powdery and iris-y for me. Did you notice that after it dries down, it still has a "cold" attribute to it, as in, it should be warm and soft but there is this coldness to it that hits you right in the face? Make-up has this attribute as well. Intriguing!

Different things work better on different people. It's just a case of trying things out. :) Also some scents work better in different seasons too and different weather. I have many many reviews! Oh no I'm sorry I thought you said Iris . Then I realized I was wrong when didn't see iris in Kenzo on fragrantica. Well They both share Incense , Bulgarian Rose and mandarin in any case. ;)

Michelle aka constantconnie Hi Michelle. Yes there is an iris smell in this fragrance, and it comes from the scent molecule in this called Cyclosal. You never know though..there may well be full on Iris in this, the perfume companies don't always tell us the full list of notes. Also..it could be a combination of a few things that are creating an iris illusion. :)

Play-dough and powder. Im thinking that's possibly the iris because I get that with Prada d'iris ! And I never read or heard anyone describe it like that so I thought my maybe nose was broken lol hmmm I wonder if Kenzo and prada d'iris have any other notes in common ?

Michelle aka constantconnie I rthink the play doh/plasticy smell I get from this is a combination on the smoother side of vanilla with some of the florals. It's a weird one to describe but..I just feel someone sweet and smooth when this is dry. :)
