I'm from Maharashtra.I have travelled in all states of India. I visited kerala last time before two months. The State has better infra,proper roads, even village pocket roads, best schools, clean and efficient small govt. Hospitals than any state in India even public water taps work 24 ×7 at every 100 metre,street lights at every 50 metre which you can never find in villages in any state in India because unlike other states 40% goes to panchayaths n local bodies.Even my state of Maharashtra though rich only in GDP, wealth doesn't come up good in social indicators.No state in India is perfect,each state will anyhow will have a problem.Kerala must avoid cutting trees and allow people who come up with setting up a firm.Also do agree that people are not getting employment due to lack of industries in the state. Even the greenery is less these years as compared to north east.But its still a good place to visit

Sushamaji, I am from Kerala but work in the US. Thank you for making very intelligent observations. Regarding employment - Kerala cannot have large industries for various reasons. People are very environmentally conscious, and any polluting industry in a second densely populated state of India is faced with opposition. Secondly, Kerala cannot offer jobs to all skilled manpower. Every state of Kerala's stage will face the same situation. We have an ageing population, and our population is declining. This situation has created plenty of jobs for manual work, mostly filled by laborers from other parts of India.

Before Athirapally waterfall there is a butterfly garden, back of the garden you can see very beautiful part of the river with bunds blocking the water flow thus producing some cascades, another beautiful thing to do is drive all the way to Tamil Nadu through the same road after Athirapally and Vazhachal only problem is that night drive is prohibited and dangerous because there are wild elephants and leopard and other wild animals , some of the most beautiful lakes , but not advisable to get out of the vehicle as animals are abundant and river has crocodiles.
