The year is 2021. I've been playing KSP for 7 years. I have 8,482 mods installed. I just scanned Duna's topography with my ion-powered Endurance II probe, using a gravity assist from Ike to slow down. I then launched a Starlink mission containing 10 micro-satellites using my Falcon 9-inspired craft to position them at equidistant orbits, before recovering the booster in a perfect landing back at KSC. Yes, I'm still going to watch this whole series.

thank god for this video. i started this game up, and after about an hour of blankly staring at the screen with my mouth open, in awe and wonder, decided to finally give into the fact that i had absolutely no idea what i was doing. this was not the first video i found, but hands down, the very best of the bunch. Cheers, Scott. and also in a strange twist of praise, fuck you Scott... for i am now addicted to this god damn game, and all i've done is collect dirt samples, and spilled strange goo into the ocean. in all seriousness, this is a very good in depth tutorial for someone like me, who had absolutely no idea what this game was even about. Thanks again, Scott. yes, yes... i know im like years late on this game but... better late than never! Cheers.

I really enjoy your videos, Scott, and I'm glad I found this. I've been playing around with KSP for awhile, but have finally decided to get serious about learning it, so I'm starting from scratch, including removing all my mods, and will be following this tutorial series as it progresses. Thanks for all the work you do and for helping folks like me learn in a structured, yet fun, way. :)

Hey, Mr. Manley--- THANK YOU! You have some of the best, simplest to follow, and most entertaining videos on KSP I've seen anywhere (Plus, your first name is Scott, and your Scottish, so two bonuses in my book!). I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the hand-up when it comes to KSP. I'm new to it, and, oddly, I love physics and orbital mechanics. That's thanks in large part to you and the videos you do. Keep up the great work, please.

Scott Manley. If I could recommend a few things for the 2nd video: UI: * The location of the time scale / M.E.T. indicator and the SAS active indicator * The location of the symmetry indicator in the VAB UI. * How to maneuver in the Vehicle Assembly Building (Scroll to change camera height etc) Cheap & Easy science: It's sort of exploit-ish but you can also do just a capsule only on the launch pad to make it easy to get crew surface reports from the launch pad as well as surface samples from the grass area just off the deployment track. Other random thoughts: * How rotation in flight is relative to navigation ball not camera orientation. * Is it just me or does the Astronaut Complex building and surrounding sidewalks sort of look like an outline of a capsule?

If you want to get a few extra science points at this stage, your command pod's torque engines are strong enough to roll off the launch pad. You can run out of electric charge pretty fast but, if you're careful, you can get crew, EVA, and soil sample reports from KSC and Runway biomes.
@JoelMurphy7711 жыл бұрын
Admittedly, I haven't been able to get to the runway, myself... but Jebediah assures me it'll work.

3:05 "pick that up and again you see a green attachment point. Move it down and the part turns green." No, the parachute stays red no matter how I place it. yes, it's lined up from all angles exactly as displayed in the video.
