My favourite part of this plot line was the way it took advantage of and emphasized unique characteristics of all the spacecraft. It's normal to see a ship "working as designed", even _more_ normal to see "exploding in weird ways", but pretty rare to see "design forced into a role it wasn't intended for".

What an amazing episode! I haven't seen a plot twist like this since a plane mysteriously exploded close to the old KSC. I think the Asteroid Diverter should be re-christened USS Enterprise; only the Enterprise could manage to pull off a grab like that whiel being the only starship in the sector.

When my first Kerbals were marooned on the mun: Text of William Safire’s speech for President Richard Nixon in the event of a disaster besetting Apollo 11. Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace. These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice. These two men are laying down their lives in mankind’s most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding. They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a Mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown. In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man. In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood. Others will follow, and surely find their way home. Man’s search will not be denied. But these men were the first, and they will remain the foremost in our hearts. For every human being who looks up at the moon in the nights to come will know that there is some corner of another world that is forever mankind.

Scott, love all of the ISQ episode and I think that it is great that you try to make it a learning experience as well as a fun story. I wish to make a request. I was watch an old 007 movie, "You Only Live Twice", last night, and I thought it would be interesting if you recreated the launch of the Japanese shuttle capture vessel, successfully "capture" a personnel pod, and then land back on Kerbal. I'm sure it shouldn't be too difficult for you, but it might be a challenge given the "cargo"/capture bay is at the front of the spacecraft. Watch maybe the first 30-45 mins of the movie and you will see what I mean. Again, awesome series, I await new episodes everyday. Cheers!

0.25 really dissapoints me, I personally think that the financial side of the game is very non-important, and since 0.24 the amount of career mode I played has nearly diminished entirely, and yes, I know about the 'Science' mode, but 0.24 just pushed me away from that mode, which I loved so much up to then.
@mike1499149810 жыл бұрын
I'm sure that you're not the only one with such opinion, but I'm also pretty sure that many players (myself included) mostly play Career mode and will be very happy to find new challenges in the upcoming administrative upgrades. It is, after all, a simulation of a space program, which will be a bit more realistic in 0.25. But of course, there's still a long way to go, in realism, gameplay and other aspects of the game.
@pyr0b1rd10 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you're posting this and not on his video on the patch but okay... In any case, there are new parts in 0.25 don't forget, plus the other additions are an incremental step towards the system they want. Yes as things are it isn't perfect. Didn't me take long in (the new) career mode to max out the tech tree, and funds were only a problem on the first launch. Contracts were nice, but many were just providing a challenge that you could easily avoid. So really the .25 update won't provide anything particularly different to career mode, short of a way to dispose of the now redundant science. *But* it's part of an incomplete system. What we get in .25 may pave the way for something better and more useful in .26 or .27 for example. And, at the end of the day it's an early access game, not a full release. If you don't like the game as it is, just shelve it for the next year or two, or until a new patch makes things more interesting. There's nothing wrong with getting bored of a game you were enjoying until just recently.

@pyr0b1rd10 жыл бұрын
Al Victor Well... arguably sandbox can be tricky enough (e.g. landing on Eve and returning), but Career gives you clearer progression. It's not for everyone of course; career mode will likely involve managing all the various aspects of the Space Centre. Whether it's important or not... well that's a matter of personal opinion. You don't have to like or want to play it, just don't forget others do like it, and enjoy playing it.

I've watched all of the IQ episodes but I forgot the backstory with regards to Lanbur, Sean, and Archibald Kerman. I think Sean was the original secret agent right, when he took that mysterious expedition to the moon? Although he dies and now Lanbur is the new agent so he tries to kill Archibald? Sorry can someone explain, it has been awhile since a plot twist has happened.
@Mitchz9510 жыл бұрын
As I remember it: Lenbur disappeared during an aerial survey of the Kerbin badlands, and was presumed to have crashed. Meanwhile Sean visited the Mun, and was later the captain of the Duna Express. However, the more recent Outland mission discovered that Sean never actually left the Mun; the Sean who went to Duna was actually Lenbur in disguise. We haven't learned Lenbur's motivations yet, but Sean is kind of doing secret research on the anomalies in the solar system.
