I've been playing games for decades, nothing has ever made me fall in love with a game before KSP. pretty soon it will be ported over to Unity 5, meaning that huge space staions, planetary bases and craft will be possible without tanking the framerate Well done Squad on making a game with no equal

Ive been gaming as well for over 25 years with a touch of amateur game design under my foot and while I would agree in terms of realism and options (breadth of content) wealth of options and even the glitches can add to the overall charm loads of replay value with an almost insanely excessive eye for fine-tuning/tweaking and as many have said a level of depth to an already steep learning curve sim enthusiasts rejoice...with that said do remember this isnt a game for everyone and it does have what many would call an boringly average almost dull or prototypical (and thats being nice) soundtrack and visual design granted it doesnt detract from the pros/positive bullet points this game has (and despite some saying gamespot has its paid reviews n biased reviews and untrustworthy laundry list of pros/cons) I would have to say the 9/10 recent updated "final" version review of this title was spot on. Overall in a nutshell a great game where the pros far outweigh the cons but as said its just not a game for everyone...maybe I want a great indie retro 2D platformer like Super Meat Boy or some AAA western open/sandbox rpg like Witcher 3. You know...for me its like my gaming tastes are similar to my literature and music tastes ...varied and change over time based on mood and surroundings. So I wouldnt go as too far as to say its a game with no equals...cause thats subjective/mere opinion I personally can think of a dozen titles across multiple genres and time periods -n- platforms that Ive enjoyed equally as much or prefer even moreso...but again thats just opinion. Having said all that though by no means am I bashing the game..its great and for many an already instant classic that I could see developing a huge cult following and a proactive mod community (if it hasnt already as Im not fully up to date on the current games status within community) nonetheless a great game just not for everyone ..and maybe when I have a bit more uninterrupted "focused" time I can invest into the game...sometimes I just want to come home n plug n play an action rpg or racing title...to me complexity and depth dont always equate to enjoyment (luckily this game has the originality n charm to perpel it into instant classic status) ..hope everyone enjoys and apologies for the long run on paragraph with improper abbreviations...typing on a tablet with low power isnt the easiest...good day.

This is great for promoting science to children (and to people in general). Better than _Interstellar_, at least. I wish Neil deGrasse Tyson would pay attention to video games as much as he does movies.

Lockerd Did he? Oops! Must've missed that. :P Also, yeah..KSP is _obviously_ nowhere near as complex as actual spacecraft-building, but it's a lot better at "promoting science" than anything else.

SirPetterTheFirst Awesome thing about Squad, they have said they will never charge for adding content or go the DLC road. It's done, but they are still developing and planning on adding more features. FREE. They said if they ever do charge for anything, it would only be for adding a massive expansion like how games used to be.

Spent 10$ a few days ago when this was on sale. Can confirm: Still feels amazing creating a space ship from scratch, planning a course of action for launch, and how you will complete your contract(s), then piloting and landing the ship. KSP is a massive lego bin that says "You're supposed to build spaces ships . . . but really just build whatever the hell ya want" and I love KSP for that. No hand holding. Brutal yet awe inspiring realism (Albeit slightly simplified), and a personality that keeps you laughing even when your space-plane-boat-rover-missile-satellite you spent 2 hours building explodes on the launch pad. 9/10 from me as well. 10/10 if it ran a little better.
@mgmorgan0223
@mgmorgan0223 4 жыл бұрын
It actually isn't simplified at all in my opinion. The mechanism for building a spacecraft has to be simplified (obviously), but I regularly use seven to eight math equations everytime I prepare for launch. I play on the hardest difficulty so you receive the most realistic experience possible, where even the slightest error and you're Kerbal is permanently dead (no relaunch feature, also one save file). It makes the player consider even the slightest of things, no matter what you're doing. You get one chance- you're either going to do it right, or reap the real consequences of what would really happen. If you have over 500 hours of game time, I highly recommend trying it.

Kerbal Space Program is one of a kind, there is not a game even close to it. The closest game to KSP, is Space Engineers. But Space Engineers look like blocks on top of Blocks, like if you were actually building with Legos. In KSP there are actually parts to build with, with their own Physics, Textures, Animations, etc... And not to mention the Parts, Rockets, and crafts in KSP look 1000x better then Space Engineers. Also, when your playing KSP don't worry to much about the glitches, and bugs in the game. You have to understand, this has never been done before, and the studio that have been developing KSP have never ever developed a game before. KSP is their first game ever developed. Its crazy how a studio that was never a game development studio, can just create an awesome game like KSP. The game is still being developed, just because its out of Beta and there hasnt been an update in quite some time, doesnt mean they are not still developing the game. Squad likes to spend a lot of time on an update before they send it out. This is to make sure they are packing as much as they can into the update, and addressing as much as they can. Squad listens to the community feedback too, the good and the bad. Like I said, the reason why they take so long coming out with another update, is because there updates are Huge steps forward. Look at KSP update 1.0 for instance. I can't wait until KSP is finally perfect, and in its final stages of development. I hope they finally get it working with the 64Bit version of Unity. When that happens, people will nuts, installing every mod they see. lol. People with an insane amount of RAM anyway (I have 32GB. I got 32GB just for KSP, when they get the 64bit version working properly).

I've been playing this game _a lot_, and it's awesome. As soon as KSP goes Unity 5 with a stable 64 bit version for Windows, KSP will be even more awesome. Squad has made a great work and with ~2000+ game hours I do not regret the purchase for a moment.

@aazo5
@aazo5 9 жыл бұрын
What do you mean there are problems with the orbits? I've never had orbits change for no reason. You must be talking about getting an encounter with a planet or moon while you are headed somewhere else. That would cause them to change, but that isn't a bug.

(I highly doubt it as i can barely run many games that are four or five years old and pretty much none of the more demanding game that have come out in the last two or three years - but just to see if there's any chance - i've got Windows XP, a Pentium 4 CPU, 1 gig of Ram and a Nvidia 6200 "Turbocache" graphics card :) .)

Troller Smith No worries, I'm pretty used to not being able to run games now and while i've been looking at the prices of new computers, one i like the look of is over €1,200 (i want to be able to play X Rebirth and similar games at high settings :) ), which i can't really afford right now and while i can probably just about afford a €700 one, it not the computer i want...maybe this game will come out on PS4 (along with the entire X series, or at least the games from Terran Conflict* to Rebirth ), then i won't need a new gaming PC :) . (*X3 Reunion runs perfectly on my PC, but i've played it to death and while i can play Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude, it's generally pretty painful - it normally takes a five minutes to load each new sector i fly into, so a quick flight with Seta enabled across five-ten sectors that should take me about ten minutes, could take me half and hour to an hour, which is a particular problem early in the game when you're lacking jumpdrives and travelling to Terran space is particularly frustrating as you've to fly through each sector :_ . Then other times whether i'm in combat or not, the game may just freeze for five minutes or more, for no apparent reason (it's likely a memory problem) - i've still put hundreds of hours into the two games, but it would be a lot much enjoyable if i could run the games better, or they were on Playstation and they'd just, work :) .)

I noticed some interesting things when i did open it up though, it's motherboard is mounted sideways and it's graphics card in upside down - that probably helped keep it working as long as it did, given the amount of dust that was in it :) .

No rating or opinion given. This is a review? More like a synopsis. Not even that because it hardly mentions anything you can do in the game.

Viper Guard My conversation with my console friend: - Why don't you switch to PC gaming? - I don't care about graphics, it's all in the gameplay. - Hmmm...well, your laptop could handle it anyway, so would you like to play some Torchlight 2 (i sent him as a gift on Steam)? - Nope, looks like a ps2 game.
