it's the word Kerli uses to describe her style of music. it was taken from what a critic was saying of her and meant as an insult. she turned it around and made it her own. she says it means "to make beautiful things dark and dark things beautiful," sort of how her music can be both dark and beautiful.

One of my fave tracks off UTOPIA. I'm a new fan of hers, discovering her only a few months ago. I got the pleasure of seeing her perform last Saturday at Hydrate in Chicago. She was great! She even brought glowing foam tubes for the audience. (Although she didn't pass them out herself). She has got my love and respect from the moment I heard "Army of Love" and found out she writes/co-writes her own music. A truly underrated star.

It's true that this isn't your typical "Love is Dead" or "old" Kerli, but what we are hearing now is the Kerli that has evolved as an artist and is exploring a new side of music. Utopia, to me, feels so much more complex as a compilation than Love is Dead: it contains more variety in music, and has a more energetic feeling.
