I had the tremendous luck to be refuelling one day way back in the mid 90's when Kermit landed in this aircraft and taxied up to the same pump. It was the first time I had ever seen both the Storch and Mr. Weeks, a real twofer! When he left it looked like the Storch rolled about 6 feet before it lifted off. I was inspired to visit Fantasy of Flight a few weeks later. The beautiful Catalina that can be seen in the background of some of these videos was a hulk at the time (I assume it is the same Cat!) and it makes me smile when I see how great it looks now.

Wow- - thanks for sharing the experience !! This vid was a excellent 1st person walk thru and I am really lQQking forward to the next 2 parts! The Storch has, and will always will be, my favorite bird ..its STOL performance is truly amazing for then (and now !)- - this example was pristine - like it just rolled off the factory line into service. awesome! thanks again!

I have seen and been with Kermit and his Storch, I believe it is his favorite aircraft he owns, and is his favorite toy in his amazing toy box! Good to see you again Kermit! They changed my territory and miss dropping in after work and helping when I could! Check out the handle here!!! My secretary caught me there after work so often. and did it as a gag back in the early 90's. setting up our accounts for a project for work using youtube and I kept it! She would call me late in the day and I was there too much I guess!! Hope to be back soon and see the new place!

Mr. Weeks, Thanks for a trip in an airplane I've long lusted to have in my logbook ! In my airport bum days ( about the same time you were tying knots in the air !) there was a Storch based at Sky Manor but I could never cage a ride, let alone a checkout !
@deeremeyer17497 жыл бұрын
You "pilots" record the "type" in your "logbook" and go around trying to "cage" (did you mean "cadge"?) a ride or "checkout" in whatever airplanes happen to catch your eye? And expect other pilots to LET YOU "cage" a ride or "checkout" in their planes? What airplanes HAVE you put "in your logbook" or "caged" a ride or checkout in?

I never understood the small tires? Did the Germans exclusively use improved runways with this aircraft? The tires just don’t seem to be in keeping with the balance of the mission design.
@theoldman88774 жыл бұрын
Every time I see one of those , I think the tires wear made that size because of rubber shortages during production, any information about that.
