Snowpiercer is a standout performance in a film full of standout performances. Should have shaken up the action genre but received minimal distribution

Swinton's performance in We Need to Talk About Kevin is one of the best performances I've ever seen.

I really love her role in "I Am Love" by Luca Guadagnino. It's a movie where she has to act in russian and italian (mostly italian), and there's a scene where she has to make us believe that she doesn't understand english, her mother languege, and she does it with brilliancy.

I'm surprised that I Am Love didn't make the list.

Her performance in that film was great, but I found the rest of the film surprisingly bland, mainly the production design.

+Jackson Ossea I agree completely. She was flawless (even spoke amazing Italian the whole time, along with some Russian), and I thought it was a gorgeous film. Surprisingly, it got very mixed critical reviews - mainly, I think, because of the 'melodrama' towards the end. Still love it.

Top 3 Tilda Swinton movies where I didn't know I was watching Tilda Swinton 3. Snowpiercer: Didn't realize it was Tilda until her second scene. "Wait a minute, that's Tilda Swinton, barely recognized her" 2. The Grand Budapest Hotel: Wait, wasn't Tilda Swinton supposed to be in this, did I miss her? Let's see the credits... She was the old woman!? 1. Trainwreck: Because Mark Kermode just said in this video she was in Trainwreck. An I usually take pride in being able to spot and recognize actors but I can't get a grip on Tilda.

Definitely Only Lovers Left Alive, which is probably the character that I've seen her play that is closest to her true self. She was also fantastic in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It's always good to see her play roles that are either leads or large supporting roles, although Wes Anderson does give her some brilliant small parts.

She has many options; a quirky career full of rich characters and performances. But still, I can't help feeling that Julia was overlooked. Her most believable, multilayered, and most ferocious role to date. Truly a masterpiece!

I had no idea that was Tilda in Trainwreck. There was something very familiar about that character but it must have been one of the rare times that my curiousity didn't lead me to IMDB or my otherwise very reliable trainspotter brain didn't work the way it should. Superb actress.

My favourite performance of hers would have to be her narration in Derek Jarman's Blue, given its context.

The War Zone is one of my top five movies ever, just for the daring brutality. Kermode quickly glosses over it here. She was pregnant for and during the role and I can't think of many actresses who would have dared to try. It was Tim Roth's directorial debut. I was very careful about who I recommended it to. No car crash scene will ever equal that one.

I'm surprised you didn't include Edward II. But, given the time frame of this video, I can't fault you for not including Only Lovers Left Alive. Still, I think we both agree that Tilda is one of cinema's most incandescent lights, an acting marvel of titanic proportions.

Top Five may be good for any other actor, but for Tilda I think one has to do Top Twenty. Anyway, Julia. She took me with her performance there on such an emotional spin. Yes, I know, every critic said Julia is an unlikeable character, the film is wrong, but I did empathize with Julia. Thanks to Tilda's performance and perfect acting of this alcoholic woman's desperation.
