Not harsh, just candid. Other reviews have been similarly unimpressed. Many complained that their hair would stick to their face and that was enough to keep me away. Also, I prefer a satin glow over a dewy finish. I love the look of healthy skin, but not greasy or like you said, sweaty. I was a very oily gal back in the day. Now it is as close to “normal” as I guess normal can be. I certainly don’t want to revisit the sad days of fighting oil breakthroughs. 😊

Hi Kerry. Another Great review. I ordered a small pallet (trio) of Miracle Balms which is a great way to try the product. I'm 66 years old and thought I'd be a prime candidate for this product. I love the premise and love the Dusty Rose color. I thought I had combination skin but for this product I think my skin is still too oily. Also found it didn't have enough pigment for me so I had to build up the product but It never tacked down and I ended up looking like I had an oil patch on my cheeks. I use this product when I'm running errands sometimes but It's almost a no- no-makeup look. Bummer. I DO love her mascara's however. You have such a lovely way about you and were not too harsh.

Love your advice as always, it's great to have a trusted source to turn to, I've always learnt something from your videos, even if in the UK I can't obtain all of the products. You really have given me more confidence with makeup especially as I navigate the joys ha ha of menopause. Ohhh panda eyes - yep ready struggling with this ATM, maybe it's because we finally have some good weather in the UK, but by the end of the day I have makeup where I don't want it!!! Ahhhh. I've never been a foundation wearer, but now that I'm over 60, my skin colour needs a little evening out. I tried the WTF and I use it very lightly as I tend to be a bit pale naturally. My skin seems to like it. I have the miracle balm as well, and I too find that the colour seems to not want to show up on my skin unless I use more of it, which can get a bit tacky. Still juggling that one a bit with the "Flushed" but I scooped up a small pot of "Miami Beach" and it definitely shows up better on my skin. Overall I like both of these products.

I love honest reviews given kindly, which you did.😊 I recently purchased a taupe brow pencil from Mac. I loved it, application was easy and natural looking. The color looked great with my white/gray hair. It lasted only a month! $24.00 for only a month of use is a terrible squandering of money in my household 😅I just ordered the JR balm, I am very happy to hear it’s good, thank you!

In the best circumstances, our mothers and grandmothers are our role models, the women we look to for how to live our lives, it’s as if they walk ahead, forging a path we can then use. I have tried the Miracle Balm and didn't find that it worked for me. It wasn't pigmented enough nor did it last the day. I have also tried the Cool Gloss and again the same issues. I will not be buying either one again. I have yet to try the mascara, but I am looking forward to giving it a try. Thank you for the review.

Agree with you although I did not care for the mascara mostly because of the tube size and large amount of product on the brush. Also tried the cool gloss in “nude beige”. Loved the color presented in the tube but would not purchase again. It tended to dry out my lips.The miracle balm in “Dusty Rose” works well on older skin if applied as you suggested. Very fair review. I am a lover of Jones Road, I have dry, sensitive skin and WTF is my personal holy grail as it covers my redness and does not settle into fine lines. I use the Face Pencil and the Face Corrector to cover spots and dark circles, then I follow with the MB in Tawny and Flushed, The Eyeliners and Just a Sec on my lids. I do apply powder on the center of my face and under my eyes. I do not use The Mascara as it is too wet for me, and I do not use The Brow Pencil as Benefit’s Precisely My Brow is my holy grail. The thing about Jones Road and the sheerness ( which I have been able to layer without any problem) is that it is not suppose to be full coverage though you can build it up that way with the combination of the WTF and the Face Pencils, it’s the “no make up” look many of us like; you can also powder the entire face to tone down the shine (JR0 has powder products for the entire face and blush too). I personally love Jones Road and have been slowly replacing my products with JR that works best for me.

You mentioned the Jones Rd eyebrow pencil, I haven't tried it, but I used to LOVE her soft grey pencil from Bobbi Brown line, but they discontinued. Many people love the Benefit pencil that you're using though.

I do like the miracle balm for the dewy look, but also found it a bit too greasy for putting on nose or forehead and it does wear off after a while. I find myself using Maybelline Cheek Heat first ($12.60!) and then the Miracle Balm over it. My first experience with WTF Foundation was that it had waxy flecks in it. I microwaved it for 20 seconds, mixed and let it cool and now it works well, but does feel too greasy. I LOVE Tarte SEA Hydroflex serum foundation- it’s a game changer for mature skin. I am 65 and it works great. I may try the Jones Road mascara. I currently use the Thrive mascara which really extends and plump up my thin lashes, but it is a lot harder to remove. I also love the combination which I received in trial size at Sephora of Chanel La Base mascara primer and Chanel mascara- the trial sizes have lasted me long time and I’m afraid that when I look at the regular product, it will be super expensive! Anyway, thanks for trying these products. You have saved me a lot of money. BTW, another fantastic eyelid primer is e.l.f. Luminous Putty Primer. it’s designed for the face, but the slight luminosity works really well under eyeshadow. I really love the Revlon skin lights cream mascara which comes in a set of four and stays on and does not look gunky.

I am 71 and have been a loyal Bobbi Brown fan since age 45. Because my experience with most of her namesake products has been good, I was excited to try JRB. Bobbi's expertise with color products has given me a very pretty and natural look, which is the outcome I always want to achieve. I also would like my products to be as cruelty-free as possible. I have tried all of the Jones Road Beauty products and the only ones I continue to use are the Lip Tint and eye shadows. The problem I have with many of the other products is the fragrant botanical oils in them. They irritate my skin and cause my eyes to water. This is also the case with some of the products from her namesake line, such as all the vitamin-enriched brand products. I wouldn't say I like the WTF, Cool Gloss, and MB products in the JRB line. Thanks for your honest appraisal. I have spent too much on products that don't work for me.

I’m a relatively new subscriber and really appreciate your style. I used the miracle balm. I’m 60 and have normal to oily skin. I found the balm to be sticky and too shimmery. I found that it clogged my pores. I have to be very careful with what products I choose and this product is not a fit. I want to thank you for your eyebrow tinting tutorial as I’ve incorporated it to my facial upkeep. My hair is silver and it’s important to keep my brows intact as the framing of the eyes is very important to me. Thank you and be well.

I bought several of her products including WTFoundation and Miracle Balm. Foundation is definitely sheer. If I build it up it is tacky. The MB fades very fast!! Face Pencil probably needs to be put on under the out foundation. For me… a lot of hype and very expensive.

Oof! Thanks for doing this. I've never used Bobbie Brown but I did go to Jones website. I was in a rush, but the website was clumsy and confusing, kept pushing other products before I could decide. Was on phone and figured to try another day on computer. Somewhere along the line I gave them my email. Tons of spam every day. I unsubscribed and haven't looked back. The work to use product and scent tells me I made the right decision.

I was curious about the miracle balm and admittedly I am still not sure what the purpose is. I’ve even emailed the company with questions and did not get an understandable answer. It feels sticky, thick and literally melts off my face in the S FL heat. Simply awful for me.

I don't like sticking my fingers in any product, especially moisture laden ones. Spatulas are worth every penny, rinse off as you wash your hands, and you're good to go.

Yes, before she sold out to Estee Lauder. They even discontinued her original line of lipsticks, the ones that made her famous. I remember when her original line made it to my city in the early 90s - it was all subtle tones and quite a departure from the OTT makeup we were sporting in the 80s. Such a shame that she lost her original vision of cosmetics without gimmicks.
