Mature Eyebrows - How to Tint, Tweeze, and Shape

In this eyebrow tutorial, I demonstrate how I tint, tweeze, and shape my #greyeyebrows. This video is Unsponsored.
In the first step, I tint the silver in my eyebrows. If this step doesn’t apply to you, you can fast forward to step 2 - trimming and tweezing. Step 3 describes how to fill in and shape your brows using eye shadow, or a powder brow product.
I use Just for Men Moustache and Beard Formula to dye the grey hairs in my eyebrows - Please be aware that this product is not intended for eyebrows, and there is a warning on the package that states not to use near the eyes. However, I have used this method for the last fifteen years, for tinting my eyebrows. Read the directions and warning labels before using. If you do not feel comfortable using this on your eyebrows - don’t. I am just showing how I personally use it. You can always go to your hairstylist to get your eyebrows dyed. And definitely DO NOT use it on your eyelashes! Contact with your eyes can damage your vision.

I'm so happy I could cry. I have auburn hair with very light brows, which, now that I am 61 are light with white hair. I ordered the JFM light red brown and with the help of your video, tinted my brows this morning. They came out great! Other tutorials I watched involved Vaseline on the surrounding skin and using a small speciality angled brush to apply the dye, neither of which was necessary. Oh, my...! You've made my day....I am a previous redhead who once upon a time had light to medium brown eyebrows.... I've not gone grey - but instead have just lost pigment so that I'm a light blonde now....that is, all except my eyebrows which have every colour in them now...blonde, white, the odd brown, and a very few auburn. When I have had them tinted at a salon, they tend to 'take' quickly and I've sometimes gone out of the salon looking like Groucho Marx! I tried the method and product you recommended and only left it on for 2 minutes for the first application. One eyebrow was perfect and the other (the one with more white/grey hairs) had a bit of a blank spot so I re-applied it to that spot for one more minute. I am thrilled with the results and it's SO easy. I am posting this for other fair-haired folks to know that less is possible and a reapplication can fill in any areas which need a touch more colour. Thank you for your video about coloring eye brows. Mine are salt and pepper like you said yours are. Today I bought Just For Men color and did my brows. Your technique is so easy! I am a almost 69 year old mature lady who lived her teenage years in the late 60’s. This was during the thin, thin, eyebrow era. My eyebrows used to be thick and dark, but in college I started plucking them and ended up over plucking until now I barely have any brows. Doing my brows is what takes me the longest amount of time in my makeup routine. I have brown hair that has a good bit of gray. My brows, what there is left of them, are lighter brown with white and silver sprigs. I use a Nyx eyebrow pencil to fill them in and try to make them look fuller. I had never thought of using the “Just for Men” product to tint them. Thanks for this tip. I will give that a try to see if it helps make them at least show up. This has been a very informative and useful tutorial video. Thanks again for sharing your expertise with the rest of us!

So I do cover the little gray that I have. I have long naturally curly wavy hair. But not as curly as yours although I wish it was. But I'm okay with my own hair curl and length. Oh yes, one can get quite carried away. Which is what happened to me in the 70's. No such thing as brow bars then; I ruined them & they never recovered. Naturally asymmetrical one has an arch one completely straight. Professionals always try to sell me products for brunette even though I am mostly grey, looks so wrong. I'm one hot mess. SO glad I have found this option, cannot wait to try it. I have fast growing brows but mixed white and black. And the hairs are wiry and so far nothing has worked in terms of powder eyebrow options or even mascara. My hair is mixed silver( not gray) and also black but a softer texture. I like the silver really sparkly but not the eyebrows. Now I have an option to reduce the very white eyebrow hairs...thank you so much....and yes please a video on your skincare, your complexion is lovely. .Victoria

I just came across your video. I was looking for what to do about my eyebrows b/c I have salt and pepper hair like your's. Honestly, you look stunning! You take such great care of yourself. Your hair is absolutely beautiful! I had naturally curly/wavy hair. I lost my hair due to medical issues. I loved being "bald" b/c I didn't have to listen to comments from everyone about what I should do with my hair. Everyone has an opinion you know. Great video- I did have my brows microplaned several years ago and it was the best thing I ever did since I can go out with little to no makeup and still look alive! 😊. You have such a lovely voice. Here’s a tip some people might like. It’s from Wayne Goss. Instead of measuring where beginning, arch, tail with your pencil, etc on the side of your nostril begin with the pencil in the central of the centre of the nostril than carrying on as usually used technique. It is quite interesting. It shapes the beginning of the brow mostly but that gives an idea where to begin your eyebrow. I don’t know if I am explaining it this well, sorry. But what happens is by going straight up from the mid nostril past closest of tear duct and continue up. For instance a person may have a slim nose bust using this the beginning of the eyebrow is more natural and there is less space between brows. If you have if you have a wide nose going from the mid nostril the beginning of the brow isn’t to far or to close to each other. I apologise this is so long and differs from Kerry Lou’s technique (seems I’m taking things over here), it’s just a different tip and may help someone, it helped me. But Kerry Lou’s way is great too.

I just love you! This is such a great tip. I have very blond eyebrows and I have been tinting my brows for a long time. I have never tried the men’s product. Can’t wait to try. So funny. I just ordered the Tarte eyebrow powder in a grey tone last night can’t wait to get it. How timely . Thanks as always.

I took your tip and it worked. But I just never got around to doing it enough. I bought a medium dark brown retractable pencil at Sephora and used that for a while. I didn’t think I looked old enough to use gray color on my brows. Why are also salt and pepper. I asked sephora to match me after I ran out of the retractable pencil. Medium dark brown and taupe really was it matching very well. They had me try Benefit cool grey pencil. I was resistant at first, but then came around to the idea that it was a better color. And the mascara kind looked so much better. So I tossed the just for men. I don’t wanna go back-and-forth between brow colors.

Hi Judy, sorry for the delay in replying! Please check out my last video on brows, I talk about Kosas eyebrow pencil in grey, and the brow mascara in Taupe. It's a great combo, and completely covers grey brows - looks very soft too!

@@kerrylou3 so sweet of you to get back to me! Unfortunately, I’m not very good with eyebrow pencil. I tried it before buying this. You’re a make up artist, so imagine that you’re much better at it. The nice thing about this particular. eyebrow mascara is that it has a tip at the end for drying things in. I think this is the best I can do. I’m guessing yours is much better, but it’s not something that would be feasible for me.
