Despite a phenomenally successful 30-year career in the spotlight, Washington's life off-screen was largely hidden from public view until recently, with the release of her long-awaited memoir, Thicker Than Water. Putting her personal story to paper is not something she ever expected to do, the actress tells us in the latest episode of our Life Lessons series, shot on the set of her special-edition autumn cover shoot.
