The actors did a great job of bringing this history to life. Thank you, Tyler Perry, and Netflix for not only attempting to bring this history to the general public, that our US government didn't want to be told in our history books and military history books for reasons, most black Americans know. No. We're not going back. If you don't know your history, you're bound to repeat it. Thank you again for doing wonderful job with this movie 🎬. You made America "woke". I mean, "learn some thing" about itself, that it still doesn't want to address.

I grew up seeing African American WAC in Trenton NJ which is outside of Fort Dix NJ. Until I saw this movie I had no idea about the 6888 Battalion. I'm African American and a retired US Marine Vietnam Veteran (1964-1985). My heart swells with so much pride for these beautiful sisters. Thank you Mr. Perry for this special gift. Ms Washington, I salute you, the entire cast for and the legacy of the 6888 Battalion. A Job Well Done! Hand, salute!!
@KarlClark-g7gАй бұрын
It's not too often for me to watch a movie back-to-back. Yesterday, I watched twice in a row and shed a few tears. Tuskegee Airmen, Red Tail, Hidden Figures, 761st Tank Battalion, and now the venerable The Six Triple Eight!!! Then there are movies such as The Great Debate, The Green Book, and Something the Lord Made. These movies, and so many others that tell the tales of Black America Excellence and Greatness in uniform and out, are so vital since these historical accounts are always absent from our classroom by design. On tomorrow, Christmas day, I now know that I will sit and relax and watch these movies starting with the Great Debate. This 6888 Battalion is indeed a must watch. My father, more than 40 years in an Army uniform. Three uncles in the Army, two in Vietnam, another in the Marines, another in the Air Force, and me, 20 years in the Navy. These movies mean something to me, and I am so proud of these forebearers, and I honor them.

What an awesome movie! My husband and I watched it today. I had so many emotions watching this movie. I was riled up one moment and crying tears if Joy and pride as a black woman. My husband had several discussions and still what these awesome she-ros endured really the half has not really been told. As black woman we still in 2024 go through the obstacles of our intelligence being questioned. We saw this during the election and to hear woman of another ethnic group as well as some of our own call VP Harris dumb as a box of rocks when she overqualified to lead this country made me angry. As an educated black woman many time we are not trained but yet given tasks to complete that at a level of difficulty that no other can succeed yet we still get it done with no credit is still not an unusual experience still today. I salute snd honors all these beautiful soldiers and again showed us resiliency of black women fighting g for the freedom of those in other countries and here for a country that did not love or respect the accomplishments achieved.
