Both were at fault. Chen for not looking at the X-ray. Had she done so, she would have seen the dissection and the patient would have been taken to surgery and lived, rather than dying from exsanguination caused by thrombolytics. Kerry was at fault for not answering her pager. As an attending, it is your responsibility to be available when your residents need help and guidance.

It's quite the contrary for me. Weaver thought she could cover her mistake by steamrolling over Chen. When Chen discovered this, she fought back and won. Weaver just can't handle being confronted when she's in the wrong.

@@darylralph8971 In her position, she did everything she was supposed to do. She paged Weaver 3 times, Weaver left her pager in a bathroom stall. Had Chen done nothing until Weaver responded, the patient still would've died, and she probably would've been blamed for that, too. Just like Chen said, all Weaver was concerned with was covering her own ass.

Whatever Chen's degree of culpability was she comes across as enormously vain and spiteful. Not a very sympathetic character. Too bad she's the Asian in this series.
