For those that surfer with that for a long time, you could consider and ask your doctor to have your blood tested for gluten intolerance. Gluten can prevent your body from absorbing all the vitamins needed.

I’ve actually just had a capsule camera which showed no damage and I seem to be ok with all other vitamins. It’s just iron and folate. But definitely get tested for gluten as it can be a major factor.

Thank you for this video, Ever since I was very young I’ve been anemic, but lately it’s been worse. I’m going tomorrow for my first iron infusion and I’ll admit, I’m a bit nervous. My iron hasn’t improved with the tablets either, I’ve gone paler than paper and my fatigue is eating away at me. It doesn’t help that I have a lot of school work piling up on my back, which I haven’t been able to work on due to sleepiness and struggle to focus. This videos helped me ease my worries a little, still nervous. But not as nervous

I've been iron deficient for a long, long time. I was told that vitamin C helps to absorb iron. I received 2 infusions while in the hospital and they made me feel drunk. The doctor said it was due to severe low levels. It's a constant struggle for me but I keep fighting. Thanks for the upload!!

@@missluvmoney I've had 3 infusions so far because of extreme blood loss. I've recently had a medical procedure done to hopefully elevate the need to have further infusions. We will see as time goes by. I have another lab in October to check my numbers. The infusions went well only one I had an issue with was the second one and that could be because I wasn't drinking enough water. Thank you for the thought. 😊

literally have the same issues. ibs and VERY low iron. yours is higher, mine is at an alert. i take the tablets, it irritates my stomach and no change. i see a hematologist the day after tmrw and everyones saying i’m gonna need one. thanks for the video!

Went for my first one today! Procedure was fine and dandy, we’ll see if I have any adverse effects in the coming days, but the strangest thing happened! As she was putting the IV in I went into flight or fight, got sweaty, my eyes dilated, my ears got clogged, and I thought I was about to be sick! It passed in a couple of minutes, like the nurse said, but it was so strange! Clocked in at just under two hours!

I’ve been on and off iron since the age of 14...I’m now 45, and the iron just makes me ill and gives me a bad stomach all the time 😣 Maybe this is something I should look into?!

Thoughts & Prayers sent that direction. Understand what you are going through with the low iron def anemia. Had it for most of my life diagnosed with it about 4 years ago, its basically changed me. However, I’m effy when it comes to the blood transfusions & iron infusions. I only take iron pills, vitamins, & have changed my diet.

I have a family history of low iron my mum and my grandma have low iron and i just found out today that my iron levels are low my iron level was 11 so my gp wants me to take my blood report to my haematologist because my gp wants me to have an iron transfusion but he wants the opinion of my haematologist since i have (itp) idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura which means i have a low platelet count so i see my haematologist often both my mum and i have a low vitamin b12 count so i get my first b12 injection tomorrow hope it works

Thanks for the informative info. I by ave struggled with iron anemia All my life but now I'm in a serious situation. I just recieved my 5th out of 7 infusions at 200mg every week.. there's been a little difference but not great yet :( Then I will go off for a few weeks and do the lab work again, to see if my iron holds. If not, I've been told this could be something I'll have to do all the rest of my life :( I'm 56 years old and the cause is still in question, undergoing tests to see where I'm losing blood and causing this.. such as ulcers and barrets disease also my kidney's as I have polycystic kidney disease.. my and I'm told that my body will not store pill form iron and insufficient iron absorption through high iron food intake. Ughhh.. I had to switch the brand of iron infused as the 1st was not working well " for me " this situation has caused so many symptoms I would have never guessed it. My situation may not be as severe for most undergoing iron infusions ! But I felt like for any out there that do it could help to know your not alone.. I thought my problem was just getting old to a ulcer, and my Dr thought I might have stomach cancer, that was not the case thank heaven! Nut Barrets disease was found. Another test I am undergoing soon to find out if there is any change there. Head aches, joint pain, well everywhere pain that led me to the ER on several occasions. I dont want to scare anyone at all, I just want you all to do this can/ does get life threatening ! And is effecting every part of my life so it's so important to get checked even if your symptoms are much milder than mine. God bless you all and hope you have a complete recovery.

I'm 67 and in the past 5 years, I've had a history of anemia. My oncologist suggested iron infusion. I've had ulcers and Barrets. I'm also working with my Gastrologist. Next will be the first of two infusions. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I’ve found this worked well - kidney beans / lentils / chick peas every meal - 1/2 to 1 vit c with every meal - as well as floradix 2x daily - no coffee or teas with in an hour before or after a meal - and ferragrad c at night before bed

I found the same but when I had my bloods tested my iron was up but my folate was down. So maybe get your folate tested.

i'm getting my first iron injection someday this week, im only 16 and when i first got my period i would get it so frequently like twice a month so it caused my ferritin levels to drop so low (mine is at 3.5) , hope it ends well!

I had to iron infusions whilst pregnant the last time, in my past pregnancies iron tablets had worked but in that particular pregnancy I couldn’t keep the tablets down at all. And as my iron was dropping and I have a record of PPH’s it was too much of a risk not to. Mine as fine and my hb rose after two weeks but I didn’t feel any different at all!

I’m here now taking my very first infusion ! I have to take three altogether and I can get them all in in one week !! I’ll know over of a course of weeks to see how long or how short it’ll take for my iron levels to increase

@@fortheloveofmoon yes if I could remember bcuz it was back in March that I was lightheaded dizzy and had a headache of and on for about two days but other than that after about two weeks I felt more energized but my iron levels were very low I had to have a three infusions within a week but yeah I’m feeling much better today !!

iron tabs that dont irritate ya tummy are called MALTOFER ..i go in 4 my infusion this week...terrrrrified of needles 😢
