Kershaw Dividend M390 Long-Term Review - IT'S BACK!!!

Well, you should have bought a second one when you could. It seems that all the lesser expensive M390 knives are out of stock everywhere. And, places are listing them (even as out of stock) on their web sites are showing prices of $100 to $150. So, I expect if they come back in stock the price will be higher. If anyone knows of a place that has these in stock, post it here.

If you liked this one so much you should definitely give the kershaw knockout in M390 a shot, same great steel but they come so thin behind the edge that they're super slicey and seem to just cut incredibly well....

Do you think this would be better than the newer composite blade version? Was looking and they have them for $80 or so on Amazon but some reviewers had the blade separate and rust. Thinking m390 would be better than the D2

Great knife and US Production + M390 for $80 is a big win in my book. My experience has been great. M390 really holds an edge and is relatively easy to sharpen. I can go either way on SpeedSafe. I'm hoping they do the upcoming BareKnuckle in a Black/M390 variant.

Kershaw sent me a deep carry clip as well after I just asked via email. The knife is super thin to carry yet feels great in my had when in use. The speed assist works fine and it doesn't bother me at all. No complaints. For the price its an incredible knife for sure!

I slightly prefer M390. Just seems to hold an edge just a bit better for me. But both are two of my favorite steels.

Harley yeah I believe m390 has slightly better edge retention and about the same as far as stain and corrosion resistance.

100% agree. I was fortunate to pick one up during the previous run. If you have the funds available... just log on to one of the websites listed in Slicey’s vid description and get it. There’s no way this knife will be a disappointment. Great vid as always. Take care!

I wouldn't mind having one but I doubt I would carry it. I have a first run M390 Link and I've only carried it a handful of times in the 7 months since it came out.

Check out the Dividend. It is lighter and thinner, every easy to carry.

Which knife provides the most secure grip and is the least slippery in hand, the kershaw dividend M390 or the ontario R2-D2? Also, can the M390 edge be touched up with the spyderco sharpmaker or a strop? Thank you for the follow up information and another informative review.

My hands are a bit too big to be REALLY comfortable on the R2D2. I still carry one a fair bit, but the Dividend fits my mitts a bit better. I've never had a problem stropping or touching up M390.

This knife doesn't have a detent hole in the blade so it can't be de-assisted even if you wanted to. Such a great knife though in spite of the speedsafe. The deep carry clip upgrade really makes the knife for me.

Just holds an edge a bit longer. Both are good steels. And specific to the Dividend... I like the black better than red or blue.

I have the first run Link and Dividend in m390. My Link is perfect. My Dividend had blade centering that can not be adjusted out.

this was the first kershaw i enjoyed carrying. everyone liked it, probably more than i did, as it was stolen. i carried it every day for about 6 months and never had an issue with the lockup or speedsafe.. the scales knick easily. i bought this and the cheaper version at the same time, the cheaper one came razor sharp and is a lot easier to sharpen, the m390 came somewhat dull and was a bitch to sharpen. the blade itself is very attractive and the black handles make it that much more badass. i'm thinking about getting the link in m390 now. it is a shame that most people will miss out on this awesome knife just for the simple fact that it is assisted. a lot of times i only have one hand to work with, and it makes opening damn near perfect.

Yesterday, my M390 Kershaw Link arrived and the M390 Dividend is on the way. I also have the House of Blade S35VN Link. I have 420HC versions too. They are all great values, but the M390 versions are greater.

I think it's one that will pop up a couple of times a year. It's been too well-received for Kershaw to ignore and they lowered the price a couple of bucks this time so it must make them money.

Good steel, great price, but the locking does not look good to me. Frame lock appears to barely hold. For work, no prob. For EDC, this is a prob.

Well once you sharpen your knife all you should have to do for the duration of its life is strop it unless you destroy the edge

Slicey Dicey I like the link too. It's just a little large for my needs. But very similar in terms of quality and value. But you're right, its a toss up between them, with only personal preference making the difference.
