Kershaw Fraxion Review - Impressive Compact EDC Flipper!

This is my review of the NEW Kershaw Fraxion 1160 a collaboration with Jens Ansø out of Denmark. This is one of the most interesting NEW Kershaw releases for 2017 because it has high end features like the KVT-bearing (well known form ZT) & a carbon fiber G10 laminate handle. It impressed me across the board with a super lightweight of under 2oz., a great detent, and awesome new materials and technologies at an affordable price. Well done Kershaw!

It is actually surprisingly great for what Kershaw is able to offer at this low a price point. Wish they have done the sharpening choil right on this one tho. Might need some additional work to fix it aftermarket, just to make it "look and work right for me".

I agree, for the price an absolute home run but not perfect specially on the sharpening choil, you have a good eye :)

Good review, how does the fraxion compare with the dividend?very happy with the direction kershaw seems to be moving. thanks, Harry

Hi harry and thanks for watching! I only held the dividend briefly at the IWA but the dividend is slightly larger and its also assisted. So for me the big benefit of the Fraxion is the KVT bearing system and that it has an awesome manual action. So I would go with the fraction. I hope that helps :)

Echt rasantes kleines Eisen. Kershaw lässt es dieses Jahr echt ordentlich krachen was neue Modelle angeht. Hat man ja auf der IWA schon gesehen und die meisten zu absoluten Kampfpreisen. Gruß Heiko

Hallo Heiko, da stimme ich dir zu. Kershaw hat dieses Jahr einige interessante Modelle am Start und ich werde mir wahrscheinlich noch ein oder zwei weitere Modelle zulegen :) Ich habe die Teile auch an der IWA mal näher angeschaut und war positiv überrascht. Das Fraxion gefällt mir besonders gut, da es sehr leicht ist und eine gute Grösse hat. Ausserdem überzeugt mich die Optik. Vielen dank fürs Reinschauen und Gruss!

Danke fürs Reinschauen, mir gefällt das Fraxion auch sehr gut und ich denke, dass es ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis aufweist. Ich habe mir das Albainox Messer auf Amazon angeschaut. Ich werde dieses Messer eher nicht kaufen, da es lediglich über 420er Stahl verfügt (da es allem Anschein nach in China gefertigt wurde, handelt es sich vermutlich um 3Cr13 Stahl), welcher in Sachen Schnitthaltigkeit in der Regel nicht überzeugt. Ausserdem mag ich normalerweise den Teilwellenschliff nicht wirklich. Trotzdem danke führ den Vorschlag.
