Kershaw/ZT is my fav brand. My first knife was a Kershaw from my dad. I'm drawn to their designs more than any other brand for whatever reason. They just speak to me! I dig this one, I'm just not super into lockbacks. I don't buy much, if any, of their China OEM'd stuff anymore, but their USA-made knives are killer for the prices. Of course they can subsidize that off the sales of their China knives, but you can't argue with it regardless! Crazy good value. I do think people in the knife community have become spoiled by the cheap Chinese brands and expecting USA brands to follow suit when it's simply not possible. There's a cost to buying from companies that are regulated heavily here vs Chinese companies. Regulatory costs are high. We can't compete, but if you want to support American brands, that's the deal. It is what it is. I still have my Clash, which is a combo blade with FRN handles. Been going strong for 6 years now. Gave it to my son recently and he has yet to destroy it haha. I'll pass down my nicer stuff when he's more responsible 😅Thanks for showing this guy off JB! 👍

FRN is almost always garbage. I have seen exceptions though. Surprisingly the Remette Peacock has my favorite FRN. The price helps reduce the FRN anger too.

I don't buy lockbacks unless they're Triad locks. I also have that same lukewarm feeling for Kershaw. They make some budget knives that are good enough for what they are, but so many new guys are making things that are years ahead of Kershaw's budget blades at the same price. I like the blade profile on that one, but not a fan of the lockback.

I walked away from Kershaw due to the insistance of using asisted opening in almot all their knive. Also, FRN does not work for me and last, D2 is a curse if you live in an 8 month raining country.

I live in the PNW. Rains for 6 months straight and have never had an issue with D2
